Game Thread W15 - New England V Miami (1 Viewer)

@#$%& Bardy just cost me a trip to the my league championship with those last two picks :wall: my league subtracts a point for each int, I had a comfortable two point lead with less than two minutes and...TWO PICKS! My opponent wins by virtue of the tie-breaker rule in our league. :wall:

You have got to be ####### kidding me. I lost by 2.2 points.....that's it. This is by far the most frustrating loss in the history of fantasy football. So many reasons i should have won....Dillon getting that TD...Stover kicking a fg....Indy D scoring and then not.....3rd place is not going to taste too sweet. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

That does suck. Sorry man.

I was down 62-79 going into this game. He had Vinatieri. I had Dillon. That was one hell of a comeback for me. Finally. All that bad luck all year in my other league pays off in the playoffs in this one.

WOW  I've seen some crazy stuff in my day, but that finish ranks right up there. Anybody want to guess the Over/Under that Brady makes the "What Were They Thinking?" in next week's pregame?I'm happy that Miami won (underdog supporter), but I'm more happy that McMichael got one last catch with 3:00 to go, advancing me to the next round.

Well, it looks like the rematch people wanted is still possible - Pats-Steelers in Pittsburgh. I think all the Pats need is a win for the bye. They have the head to head vs. the Colts, and if the Chargers go undefeated the rest of the season, they'd tie in the AFC and common opponents categories and go down to strength of victory, where I think the Bills are helping the Patriots but it's a little too complicated right now. Very, very interesting. I feel bad for a friend of mine who interns for the Pats and flew down there for her 21st birthday just to see their second loss of the season, and it was kind of fun rooting for the Steelers to lose so the Pats could get homefield, but kudos to Pittsburgh for keeping their streak going all season, and to Bates for pulling off the huge upset while he's interviewing for the HC job.

I just clinched championship berths in 3 leagues this week, 2 tonight by virtue of a low game for Vinateiri and the other by a low game from Branch - I was done in both leagues and watching the other teams eat away my lead.Mike

I think this keeps the Chargers alive for a possible #2 seed if Brady keeps channeling Plummer.
I think - think - the Chargers 1) need to win out and 2) need Pats to lose vs. the Jets, and possibly 3) also lose to the 49ers. The Colts need to win out and need the Pats to lose out.

Looks like the road to the SB comes through the 'Burgh now, boys. :stillers: :stillers: :stillers:
Yep. Lots of teams have come into Pittsburgh and left headed to the Super bowl over the last few years. Looks like another one of those years! ;)

Do this for 24 for years and then tell me about the most frustrating losses in the history of fantasy football. Or just ask Guzalot. Or me, losing by 4 despite 116 points in a league where that total would win almost always.Losses like that happen every year. It's not all about you. Deal with it.

Am I the only one that thinks that NE is going to have problems if they keep running Troy Brown and Earth Wind and Fire out as their CBs?

I'd still rather be playing at Heinz Field than in Foxboro.

I can't think of a bigger NFL upset in recent history. I still believe the AFC is wide open. Love the Steelers but the Pats, Colts, and Bolts are each legit contenders. Homefield is nice though. The team this may really help is Buffalo. They should beat SF this week and if the Steelers beat Baltimore they'd likely play the Steelers 3rd teamers in week 17. They'd need some help with knocking Jax out, but their road certainly looks easier than it did this morning.

For those concerned about the two late picks:Yeah, they were bad and it would kind of suck to lose because of them. On the other hand, he had two VERY short TD passes that could/should have gone to RBs. Particularly the one where Dillon was knocked down by the official on the one yard line and Brady tosses it to Graham on the next play.Bottom line is that Brady played pretty poorly tonight and I wouldn't expect a lot of points from that performance as a Brady owner.

There may be a bizarre 3-way tie scenario with the Pats, Colts and Steelers at 13-3 that may lead to strange results. I don't know what they are, however. Otherwise, you're definitely correct.

You really think Cowher rests his players going up against Buffalo, with a bye the next week? I would imagine he plays tough as goes hard to win that game, and knock the Bills out.Pittsburgh had their best day in a long, long time. The two top teams in the league just got dealt huge blows.

Assuming the Steelers beat the Ravens...and that is a big one...They had a similar situation in the 90's going into Green Bay with a bye week coming. I seem to remember Cowher playing his high impact starters (QB, RB) 1-2 quarters. I think this TO injury underscores how easily an injury can damage a 13-1 season. Though I am sure Cowher would love to play a part in knocking Donahoe out of the playoffs. No doubt it was a good day for the Steelers but there is still alot of season left.

Wow, how motivated will Pitt be this week playing for a shot to lock up homefield advantage, against one of their most bitter rivals, the only team to beat them this year, and having the luxury of playing at home with an extra day of rest.

settle down beavis. i had the second highest score in the playoffs. I had the refs screw me in two different games. yadda yadda yadda....

in other words: bite me....deal with that.

Fixed.

Three things:- SD wins a tiebreak against the Pats because of conference record (one of their losses was to Atlanta, but if the Pats lose to the Jets, all 3 losses will be AFC). So the 2 seed is still in play.- Random factoid: Miami has not played a sub-.500 AFC team since week 2. They have gone 2-2 against the NFC (and were closing to winning in both losses). So the natural question is: if Miami were in the NFC, would they be in the playoff hunt right now?- What's with all the haters? I've never seen so much venom in the Shark Pool before. Yall need some chill pills, desperately.

The Patriots' huge blow didn't change anything for the Steelers, who were already in the driver's seat for the #1 seed. The only change was that the Steelers no longer need to win out to get that #1 seed. This isn't necessarily a good thing. The motivation of having to win every single week is now replaced by the motivation of winning one more game to clinch, then rest. Good teams can lose their edge quickly. The only good news for the Steelers is that, if the Pats clinch the #2 seed and first round bye next week, they won't have much motivation to beat the 49ers in week 17, either.

I think the Pats losing last night will be motivation enough for the coaching staff. Sometimes losing a game like this is an eye opener. They will have a good week of practice although short and play a solid game next week. There will be no more let downs for the Pats.

Awesome game last night, it's pretty rare to see Tom Brady choke like that. Great job by the Miami D.My dynasty team had a wild ride in the 4th quarter. I had Vinatieri and my opponent had Brady. When the Pats went up 28-17 with 4 minutes to play my opponent had drawn within 2 points so I felt pretty decent about my chances. Then the Dolphins drive down and score, and I'm thinking this could be bad for me because Brady might have to throw some to get a 1st down and run out the clock. Then the throw from his back for the INT -2 pts! So the Dolphins score quickly again and I'm getting worried Brady could drive down the field and get a TD, FG and I'm probably covered. Then another INT. JOY

I don't necessarily agree. The Steelers will obviously be motivated this week against the Ravens.Cowher will certainly be motivated to try to knock Donahoe and the Bills out of the playoffs. But even if that isn't the case, this is a beat up football team. I think giving guys that are hurting right now 2 weeks off will go a long way toward having the best team possible on the field on January 15/16.And with all of the home playoff losses in the recent past, the Pittsburgh media will not allow the Steelers to take any home playoff game for granted. This team learned it's lesson in 2001 and will not assume anything.
