Game Thread W17 - Houston V San Francisco (1 Viewer)

Overtime would be a fitting end to this game, surpassed only by a tie....As for conspiracy theories.... I like the Saints getting #1, taking Leinart, moving to LA and getting Pete Carroll to coach. (Granted Carroll just signed a 6 year extension).Shouldn't the Saints go by "LA" anyway? Louisiana = LA too, doesn't it? :)

Sorry - can't see the game - was it a pretty poor attempt?

TOADS
He missed a 31 yard field goal. No excuse for that. But it was *barely* wide right. :)
LOL - I guess when you consider Brown's been practicing for these kinds of "opportunities" for 4-6 weeks now, he probably is getting pretty good at selling the misses  TOADS

Gee, can Houston make it any more freakin' obvious:

1-10-SF 21 (6:07) F.Gore up the middle to SF 22 for 1 yard (J.Babin).

2-9-SF 22 (5:30) F.Gore left end to SF 32 for 10 yards (C.Brown).

1-10-SF 32 (4:49) F.Gore up the middle to SF 39 for 7 yards (R.Smith).

2-3-SF 39 (4:12) F.Gore left end to SF 41 for 2 yards (R.Smith).

3-1-SF 41 (3:28) F.Gore right tackle to SF 46 for 5 yards (M.Greenwood).

1-10-SF 46 (2:51) M.Hicks right tackle to SF 48 for 2 yards (J.Babin).

2-8-SF 48 (2:13) M.Hicks up the middle to 50 for 2 yards (S.Payne).

3-6-50 (2:00) F.Gore left end pushed ob at HST 35 for 15 yards (J.Simmons).

This is understandable when you have a big lead and you're running out the clock, but in a tie game down to the wire when you know a FG loss will give you the coveted #1 player?

At least you put a second W on the board, Texans. Way to go! :sarcasm:

I guess it would take multiple "offsides" penalties here, so that would be too obvious.... hmmm, what to do to get SF better field position??TOADS

They're letting SF run all over them. SF doesn't exactly have a threatening rushing attack. You know what play is coming but you simply can't stop that deadly Gore-Hicks combination on every single play?!?At least the Niners battle back with the conspiracy theory by punting instead of going for a long FG.

I've thought people who thought the Texans were throwing previous games were a bunch of :tinfoilhat: . I'm still not going to go so far as to say they are trying to throw this one. But I don't think I'd argue very much with someone who thought they are.

Should they just pick the winner based on the coin flip? Or should they go through the motions of actually playing OT?

Hou has the worst (or one of the worst) run defenses in the league. SF is running on Houston cuz they suck.

They are not "2003 Cleveland Browns facing Jamal Lewis" bad. Allowing 8 consecutive runs for a series of first downs late in a tie ballgame? At least good ol Mormon Boy was nice enough to get his incompletions in there to prevent Houston from just parting like the red sea to allow SF to score.

Uh oh Niners fans...the Texans have figured out SF can't pass.
Way to give it right back to them, Niners!1-10-SF 31 (13:28) F.Gore left end to SF 30 for -1 yards (G.Earl).

2-11-SF 30 (12:43) M.Hicks right tackle to SF 30 for no gain (M.Greenwood; J.Babin).

Why doesn't one of them just run backwards and take the intentional safety at this point? Too obvious?

:lmao:

SF on their own 5. Now, if you fall down in your own end zone untouched, is it still a safety for your opponent?

Code:
I'm serious
You'd pretty much either have to take a knee, run out the back, run OB, or commit a penalty.

pathetic, watching both teams trying not to win.I bet this comes down to HOU throwing a gimme INT return for TD. The DEF can't not run that back unless they trip themselves and fall down on purpose.

This is terrible. The NFL should take away both teams first round picks for this mockery of trying to win.
