Game Thread W2 - Pittsburgh V Cleveland (1 Viewer)

Seems like everyone loves Hines Ward, but man it annoys me the way he ALWAYS laughs (and not subtlely, he does it with a huge teeth flashing smile) when he drops the ball. That would piss me off as a QB.
:ptts: I was going to post the same thing.

I used to think it was great watching his "joy of the game" as he smiles when he gets him, smiles when he drop the ball, smiles when he fumbles.

Now I think I find it kinda annoying and would like to see him get pissed at some of those things.

I know it's nick picky, but it's really beginning to irritate me.
Ward smiles because he knows that he gets away with more cheap shots than anyone in the league....That's coming from a Steelers fan.
When Ward does it= When Kordell used to do it=

great comment:

"The Browns scored on their second drive last week, then scored a meaningless FG late. Other than that they haven't sniffed the end zone this year. Except in the first half and now."

aaaaaaaand another drop.
Ya, but that one is a different variety. He got smacked pretty good. Wasn't his, now normal, hit the hands and drop it. The DB is still down on the ground hearing bells. Braylon struggled to shake the cobwebs from his head too. That one counts as a 1/2 drop. :ptts:

Glad to hear Clark walked off under his own power. Hate the thought of Anthony Smith getting increased playing time. Tyrone Carter in now for Clark.

eta: Clark already back

You could see on the replay that he dropped it well before he got hit, probably in anticipation of it.You're gonna get hit either way...

Dumb penalty Woodley, knew that flag was coming
I thought it was a terrible call
He drove Anderson into the ground, penalty every time...
How do you stop gravity there?
The ball was gone, he didn't have to pick him up and drive him into the ground.
Even if the ball is not gone, you cannot drive the QB into the ground, it's a penalty.

Yeah I remember Justin Smith (I think) got called for it on a sack against Tampa, it cost Cincy the game. Alotta complaining

:lmao:
You can't drive a QB into the ground, that is a personal foul, that is the rule.
I agree that you can't drive a QB into the ground, but I disagree that he did that.He wrapped up DA and landed on him. Hid didn't pick him up or drive him into the ground.
He kept running through him and drove him to the ground, I knew a flag was coming immediatly.

Kind of a cheap shot by Rodgers there. After the ball was gone he gave Ben a nice helmet to separated shoulder. Seemed clear that it was intentional.

I thought so, too. And given how many times roughing the passer is called on plays where it was almost impossible for the defender to not hit the QB at all, to not call that one is just bad.
