Game Thread W3 - Green Bay V Chicago (1 Viewer)

Another pitiful display of defense. Good thing Peppers is taking over this game or the Packers might have scored a TD, oh, they did anyway.

That's a ridiculous penalty.
 Always fun when fans don't understand the rules.
It's just like the no TD call on Calvin earlier in the season. Ridiculous rules. And I've watched the replay 10 times, there was nothing remotely dirty about the hit. No way that should be a penalty.
Debate the rules all you want, but don't call it a ridiculous penalty. Call it a ridiculous rule.
thanks for the correction

Might as well false start every time. It's not like you lose anything, and if it's not called you get an advantage.
Yeah. That's a bad rule
What rule would you like in place?
When backed up against a goal line, if called for a penalty, instead of backing up half the distance, the yardage should be added to the first down marker. A five yard penalty when on the 1 (first down marker at the 11) shouldn't result in only backing up 18 inches. Instead, make it 1st and 15, and make 'em get to the 16 yard line for the first instead of the 11.

The problem with a call like that is the helmet contact looked incidental. Given the angle you come from, it is sometimes impossible to not hit helmets a little bit. Leading with the helmet should be a penalty and that didn't look like he did.
Packer reporters agree with you on twitter - not a real penalty

Semantics. It's ridiculous that that play resulted in a penalty.
