Game Thread W3 - Miami V New England (1 Viewer)

This NE team is not winning 12 games. Not a chance. I doubt they win 10. They may have a shot at the wildcard because of the cake schedule, but this is not a playoff team otherwise.

some halftime thoughts

BB is going to be furious that they're not adjusting to that gimmicky lineup with Brown QB, Ricky RB, and Chad out wide. I expect that to be done with in the 2nd half. It's very simple and yet very clever of Henning, kudos to him. Smiley has been just excellent on those plays in particular. I think those plays are the difference in this game.

If BB is not going to allow Cassell to throw down field or if he's just not going to.....grrrr. It's such a waste of a dynamic offense that should be hard to match up with. I'm so sick of seeing 90% completion rate(on a drive) with barely any yards.

If O'Connel gets in, I wouldn't be surprised if he takes Cassell's job. I know I'm the only one that feels that way and it's crazy but...

You guys are are being ridiculous here. You watch a half of poor football by the Patriots, and suddenly they're just another team that anyone can beat?

Here's a newsflash: the anomaly isn't now, it was last year. New England has always had in this decade a very good, very smart team which makes few mistakes and wins a lot of close games. 2007 was the exception to the rule.

The NFL is a very competitive league, and the performance in one game (let alone one half) tells you very little. I would not be at all surprised to see the Pats come back and win this game. But even if they don't, it says nothing about the rest of the year: just one poor effort.

Maybe not today it's not, but they will be in the playoffs. The Fish aren't going. The Bills are struggling against the Raiders, at home. Pats already beat the Jets with ease. So far this game is an anomaly...lets be honest.

Have you watched the Pats play this season? They barely won two close games with non-playoff teams and getting killed at home by a third. This is a three week trend. They look terrible. They are just lucky hey get to play the scrub division in the NFC, and they may still only go .500 against it.

I disagree. As bad as the Jets were, they were still in it with a chance to win in the fourth. The Pats are a mediocre team without Brady. They are getting killed at home by a 1-15 team.Bill needs to air it out and let the kid make a couple of mistakes.

I disagree to a certain extent. A few years ago the defense was carrying this team. Recently the D has lost alot of players and has aged, leaving the heavy lifting to be done by the offense, namely the passing offense and Tom Brady. When you lose the principal piece in your game plan, everything else is gonna fall out of place. They have no running game to fall back on and the QB play has been far from stellar. Unless this Defense turns into the Balt's D of the early 2000's that was able to carry Trent Dilfer, I just don't see them doing much.

I just don't see the swagger from the Patriots that we've had to endure the last couple seasons

If Miami scores on this drive...I'll be a happy bettor camper

It's a long season. Did you write this last week or only after watching the first half of this game?

They barely beat the Jets last week  I think you're the one who hasn't watched the games.

Anyone that knows the Miami/Pats rivalry shouldn't be completely shocked by the score. I'll admit the Pats look like crap but aside from last years Dolphins (with an abortion of a coaching staff), the Fins usually give the Pats a battle. Sporano and tuna are'nt stupid and the Fins will be in a lot of games this year. The AZ game won't be the norm for that team. As for the Pats we definately lack any fire on either side of the ball which is concerning.

I agree that game was never really in doubt, but the Jets still had a chance in the fourth quarter. If Brady was in there hat wold have been a blow out. My point is that are barely getting by bad teams (or losing to them). That Jets win was not impressive.

OUCH. That was Ronnie who threw that, right? Here's to you Ronnie Brown owners... Come on Pats, get your #### together.

Not even if Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swann, and Jack Lambert all suited up in New England colors, my friend. I am true Black and Gold. I'm enjoying watching this rout. But reality is it's only one game, and you can't make year long assumptions based on one game.

Do you not get it? It is NOT just one game. They struggled to beat a pathetic Chiefs team at home in Week 1, and the Jets aren't exactly a very good team, either.

as much as I want to get excited about Ronne Brown actually doing something this year, I just have this feeling that next week Ricky Williams is going to get 20 some carries and make this week a dream.

If any Dolphins know how to get Ricky some good lifetime suspension kind of weed and a Paypal account let me know

That's two road wins. It's tough to win on the road against anybody in the NFL. As for today, everything's going wrong for the Pats, and they still haven't lost...yet. But even if they do, I'm just saying the sample is too small to make such judgments. And again, I would not be at all surprised to see them come back in this game.

The Chiefs game was at home/in NE. Wanna try that again?
