Game Thread W3 - Miami V New England (1 Viewer)

Refs blow whistle a bit early for sack, probably the right call to protect the Cassell but he did break free and probably would have run it in (some players may have let up with whistle). INT by Cassell next play....ouch

Fracking refs. Looks like they didn't learn anything from last weeks happy whistle. Gotta love the announcers jumping to the defense of the refs. Protect the Qb Protect the QB...So Eli shoud have been called in the grass in the Super Bowl then.

1st and goal at the 7 and NE tries to pass and gets sacked. 2 plays later an INT. Nice play calling with a new QB. The correct call would have been to run Morris up the gut on 1st down. Terrible play calling.

Hey, Joey......hope you brought your A game.
Did Jordan get a carry on this drive?
No, but Solomon Wilcotts said LaMont Jrodan when Sammy Morris had run the ball...guy sounded like a complete idiot...he literally had to say "Jordan coming off the bench with a spark when he didn't even practice all week"...is it just too tough to have the numbers straight ona game you are going to be the color analyst for.

So if this ref worked the SB last year, Manning is in the grasp and NE wins.

He should get the same downgrade as Hochuli for that BS call.

Arrogance... I guess they don't feel they need to tone the playbook down for a guy making his 2nd start in over 5 years

But you would be the 1st person to have a cow if Cassell was left in a defenseless position and was then hurt and had to leave the game. Was the whistle blown a lil early, sure, but only because you saw Cassell advance the ball, if there were more Dolphins in the area then they would not have blown the whistle quick enough.Nice catch Fasano!!!

:o referees

if that was Donovan McNabb or some other mobile QB, I guarantee you that whistle would have been more delayed.

it's profiling!

Matt Cassel should file a discrimination suit.

/fail

Arrogance leads to ignorance rather quickly in this league. 14 point turn with the MIA TD. Pathetic.

"In the grass"?

Haha, Patriot fans are my favorite. They whine and whine and cry about protecting the QB when Brady gets hurt on a legal play, but then when one of those rules that they whined and cried for loses them a few yards they yell that it's dumb.

Is Brown looking as good as the stat line indicates? I for one thought the guy would be no where near 100% for another 4-6 weeks. I'm impressed....

Can't believe the fish are dominating this game.
Miami allows 3.1 ypc...I talked about it in the RB thread. What miami is bad at is pass defense and Cassell just cannot be expected to exploit that. Then you add in that NE gives up 4.3 ypc...and i expected Miami to beat the spread for sure, but I also said they would win the game outright to a lot of people too. It's early, but a 21-6 lead at halftime would go a long way...

8 quarters of forgetting Moss is on the field is not going to help a team win games.

Ronnie Brown - SELL HIGH

NE does not make the playoffs. In fact they do not finish above .500 if they are this bad. I'm guessing a lot of Pats fans are in their bathrooms vomiting right about now.

Yep, you called it. I didn't think they had a chance. Wow.

The Pats are being out-coached today big time.

Will Casell ever throw beyond 12 yards?

Frustrating game so far.

The Patriots offense struggling without Brady is not surprising, but what is the deal with the defense? Are they really getting picked apart by Chad Pennington?

 Not sure what's up, but Ronnie and Chad are really laying the smack down. I don't think anyone expected Cassell to light it up, but that the Pats D isn't able to contain the Dolphins O is very surprising.

The pats are only 2-0 because they beat a very bad KC team (and barely) and a mediocre Jets team. 3rd straight crappy team and they are actually losing this one. The bubble has officially burst.

Good question. Pennington finally has not one but two decent TE to throw to which he does very very well. Fasano, Martin, doesn't matter, he loves to work the middle of the field. What penny doesn't like is sideline patterns, it's obvious although Ginn has made osme plays over there too. Then you add in a college trick play where Miami lines up Penny as a WR, Ronnie Brown on direct snaps, and ROnnie Brown running to where Brown is and either taking the handoff ona n endaround or he keeps it and takes off...NE has no answer for this formation.

They're making Pennington look like Joe Montana today...just ugly.Outside of Wes Welker and Gostkowski there is literally nothing positive about the first half for the Patriots. If they were playing a team like Dallas or Indy that would be one thing but they are being dominated by a supar team. Offensively I can understand a weak performance as they are still getting things straightened out w/o Brady but the O line is being manhandled and defensively it's just embarrassing.

Yes and they continue to play crap for most of the season...10-6 is very likely if not better.
