Game Thread W3 - San Francisco V Minnesota (1 Viewer)

It was Trent Dilfer on ESPN. Don't act like an ### just because you have nothing constructive to add to the conversation. Favre is 3rd in qb rating because he only throws 3 yard passes, it's also the reason the 49ers are still in this game.
Thanks for that info.. For some reason I thought it had something to do with a blocked FG and some bad defense on the 49ers Offensive TD's drive.... Nice to know my eyes are deceiving me and it is because Favre isn't throwing deep. :lmao:
Meanwhile, this game Favre has thrown deep how many times? And for a TD, no less. :lmao:

please don't pollute this thread with misinformation. He is averaging over 100% more than 2.5 yds per attempt. Look it up. I am sorry it offends you that I think posting false numbers is not acceptable.

:lmao: and now blaming Favre as the reason the 49ers are still in the game. You look really ignorant here, son.
The 49ers have 81 yards of offense and are winning the game. They Vikings don't know how to go for the throat. Yes, the field goal was blocked but the 49ers have no right being in the game. That isn't being ignorant, it's called not being a homer. I'm not blaming Favre, I'm blaming the joke of a head coach and o-coordinator.

Did that link work out for you then?
sorta, at first is didn't load at all - now it's in and out (no sound - not that I would understand I guess.) I'll keep trying, thanks..Wait, now it's got sound with some guys singing and a Danish dude with a Favre jersey on???
Yes, halftime show I guess. This is my first time checking out their "DanishDelight"; the other option didn't load for me. I could care less what language they are speaking though, the stream quality is as good as I've ever had. The feed is behind people watching it live though.
It's strong now, I'm listing to Paul Allen on Sirius and my radio can pause, so I'll just be a few minutes behind. Thanks for the info!

It's almost as if people are underestimating San Francisco's D still this year. Even after the blocked FG - TD return.
and it's almost as if some Favre haters will always make ridiculous posts.

Getting ugly in here. Didn't know people hated the Vikes so much and that Vikes fans have some high heat to throw back.

Seriously.. you need to put down whatever it is you are drinking and step away. 49ers Defense is playing lights out against Peterson. 49ers Offense has taken advantage when they needed to and the Special teams blocked a FG and returned it for a TD..

49ers are not the joke some here want to think they are.. Are they super bowl contenders?? :lmao:

but these aren't the 2008 49ers out there. Singletary has them playing hard every down. :lmao:

Hill did toss that INT, but I take your point.

True...he has looked ok.But with that came a lower percentage and several off the defenders hands.

THe TD to Rice was beautiful though.

I'm not trying to be combative. I merely posted my opinion, and then a stat I heard on ESPN , in which Dilfer stated that removing YAC and only looking at how far the ball travels in the air Favre is averaging 2.5 yards per pass. Conversely Brees is averaging 9.6 yards that ball travels in the air. For some reason that caused an uproar. There appears to be an inferiority complex with Vikings fans and their team. How can you not watch this team and see how conservative the offense is.

He's old and far from perfect, but he's not the reason the Vikings aren't up by two scores right now.

Trent Dilfer was a bad QB but he is quickly becoming the next Jaws for ESPN. I love his analysis and passion.

What I find even more fascinating is how the shoe is on the other foot. Packer fans trashing Favre and Viking fans protecting him..Never thought I'd see the day.. :football:

Yeah but the offense simply hasn't changed just on account of picking up Favre. That's on Chilly and Bevell. Favre's performance today isn't thrilling either, though, and they are taking their shots. The first two weeks has to be considered by design. The rest of the season? Who knows, but it'll probably stay conservative.

Ok I'm a niner fan here and before people blame Favre for that interception, it was all Berrian. That was a perfect throw.

Maybe because our Oline can't pass block for more than 2 seconds.

Ask Favre to do too much and he will LOSE you the game. If their game plan is to let Favre pass 50+ times today then they will lose! That's all there is to it.

Childress did this crap last year.

Agree there.Just was laughing at the whole high completion percentage talk.

Jurrasic had a point about the percentage being up because of short passes...there is no denying that.

Went overboard though with his talk of today's play.

WHat are you talking about? Other than that miss to Percy earlier, Favre has been on the money. BB should have 80 yards by now and no int if he would of caught that one. Favre doesnt play special teams last I heard.

I agree. That was my point. Why pull a guy out of retirement and pay him 12 million to throw the ball 3 yards down the field. I don't think Favre is the problem in this game. I never said he was. It's obvious the Vikings are the class of the division right now, but playcalling is questionable. I could see AP rushing for 200 yards next week against the Packer D though.

Then I guess the answer to your question is that Tarvaris or Sage weren't going to do any better, and I guess Coaches don't really care who gets paid what as long as it doesn't stop them from keeping the guys they want on the roster.

this is an easy question to answer.1. Favre was better than the other choices.

2. They had the cap room.

3. They will make the money back and then some because..well, he is Favre.

'Bert loves football, he has such a passion for the game. He's like a kid out there.'

I'm surprised John Madden didn't come back so he could make calls like this.
