Game Thread W4 - Houston V Jacksonville (1 Viewer)

How did the TD pass to Slaton look? Was it in the air, or a short pass that Slaton took to the house? Did he make any moves? Any thoughts on whether Taylor is going to continue to get a substantial share of the carries?

Split wide right and he ran a go route. The ball traveled 30 yards in the air and dropped in over the Jags CB. Nice pass.

:excited: Thanks for that. It looks like he's doing a better job running than Taylor, but they're about 50/50 on carries so far. Interested in any thoughts on this.

Slaton looks fast out there. I can see why they are high on him.

Great update. Now if Schaub could only find Johnson.....

It's amazing how the Jags still haven't figured out that their chances of winning go up drastically the more F. Taylor and Jones-Drew touch the ball.

Schaub finding time to throw? Is the line playing good or is he being pressured/hit? I see Jax has no sacks thus far.

Questions/observations from first game viewed of these two teams:

Has Matt Jones looked this good all year?

Can/does Garrard throw passes longer than 10 yards? He just doesn't look fluid; although his passes are mostly accurate (and short)

Schuab has to be the slowest qb in the league; I cringe every time he goes back - no sacks today, but it appears his pocket crumbles on every play.

AJ is getting targets (a couple deep) but appeared double covered and not open.

short passing game looks good for Hou

I thought Enberg died 4 years ago - he and Cross are horrid announcing (and I blame Enberg).

After starting both Taylor AND MJD, how frustrating is it to see two rushing TDs from the Jags and NEITHER being involved?

Where's MJD?

He's either horribly underused or that ankle is bothering him more than I thought.

Slaton, Schaub, Walter, and Daniels played extremely well today. I don't know what the deal is with Schaub and AJ but they need to make time to rekindle the sparks. AJ's getting double coverage of course, but he's not catching passes (or Scaub isn't making the plays) he usually makes.

Slaton's performance today should quiet the skeptics who doubt his ability to be a starting running back. He played hard again, kept his legs moving, took huge hits, and popped right up.

Schaub was almost perfect today. He got the same kind of pocket protection against the Jags that he got against the Titans, but he showed good poise and pocket awareness, stepped up when he needed to run, and made accurate throws.

Sucks for us Texans fans that the schedule makers decided to end the season early.
