Game Thread W6 - Dallas V Arizona (1 Viewer)

'If you had just given me the ball on that last down, I never would've fumbled it 2 yards from the end zone! I'd of just dropped it! What is wrong with you people?!?'

Arizona won despite:

- Losing Boldin on an irrelevant garbage time play in a previous game

- Early fumble and INT from Warner

- Having a TD overturned because of the tuck rule

- Having a Fitzgerald TD overturned

- A penalty for an injury player being "offsides and unabated to the quarterback" when Dallas snapped the ball with :04 left

- Having a blocked kick overturned because the coach called a timeout to ice Folk

- Losing the coin toss in overtime

Am I missing any?

Them losing Boldin in a previous game doens't have anything to do with today's game's circumstances. If you want to include that, you could include all of their previous draft failures or FA market failures, etc.

So,

beat Philly at home thanks to a late fumble

get waxed by Wash. at home

beat Cinci at home thanks to a late fumble

lose to AZ against all odds/calls

Yeah dudes, Super Bowl-bound!

Fitz scored two plays later

He didn't look injured to me. If he were he'd have been on the ground or hunched over...something other than standing up looking at the other players down the field. Maybe he was injured but, I can't imagine any refs giving him that call in any situation really.

Good call. They're playing like #### right now. They still have more talent than anyone in the NFL, though.

muffing the ball with 1:00 min left before the half and giving up 0 points.going for an onsides kick, and giving up 0 points

Then how about "Arizona won despite being without their best player"?

I didnt think you could run a play if someone is hurt, so shouldnt it have been a injury timeout?
Seems that we should have seen a team trying to offsides an injured player before. I guess not.
I'm not saying Whiz should have or could have been able to think this clearly and this quickly, but he could have called timeout when he saw his injued player was not going to go off the field. Wait until the offense is set and just before the snap call timeout.
That's a good point. But maybe he thought the refs would give an injury TO like usual? Don't they? I'm really confused as to why this didn't happen. If I were a coach and I saw this, I'd be making sure my QB is aware of an opposing team's injuries and have him run up and spike the ball for a free 5 yards.
Perhaps the injury timeout wasn't called because of the fact that the player was up and moving as opposed to prone or supine on the turf. Or it could be that he was so far behind the play, or even just that so much is happening in the final seconds of regulation...As to running up and spiking the ball anytime someone is injured, teams aren't typically in full-scale hurry-up mode even when they run a no-huddle except for at the end of a half, but in theory it is allowable. Maybe the biggest point here is that players should not try to hobble off the field or onsides in that situation. Finally, it's possible Whiz even thought of calling a timeout but didn't want to because he was hoping that Dallas would have a procedure call that would run the remaining time off the clock. He might not have even noticed his injured player 30+ yards behind the snap or if he noticed, it might have been only seconds before the snap.

Not true. Forget the AFC for a moment, they aren't better than the Giants and I am not even talking about last year's postseason game against each other.
