ANYONE ELSE SEE WILLIE PARKER ALWAYS OPEN 5-10yards from line of scrimmage ????????????????????????Why doesnt pitt use parker like philly uses westbrook?????Short passes to an awesome RB works wonders!
:goodposting:It was there time and again, yet he kept wanting to force it down field. Keep dumping to FWP until they do something to stop it.
I don't understand this either. All the talk in the offseason was about getting the ball to FWP in space. Yet they've made very little attempt to do this.

I think it's kinda like making the Pro-Bowl. They say you have to play up to that level for at least a year before you're actually voted in. I think the Steelers have to talk about it for a year or so before they actually implement it into the offense.I mean, think about how many years we heard about them getting the TE more involved in the passing game before they actually did it this year.

How are FWP's hands?

I think this loss might be a good thing for the Steelers in the long run. They looked unprepared and unemotional tonight. Gives Tomlin a reason to get in their face a bit. With the remaining schedule a fired up Steelers team should have no problem winning the AFC North.
Adjustments should have happened after the ARZ game.Tonight was a chance to step on the divisions collective throat. What more do they need to be fired up?Tomlin's public diatribe stresses attention to detail and preparation, his team doesn't reflect that. This is not a competitive playoff team if the intensity level doesn't change. Particularly on the road.
Jerome Harrison's neutral zone violation on the final drive showed that the Steeler defense was not focused to win. I believe that was one of two penalties they made on that drive that stopped the clock and got Elam closer to the GW field goal. The Steeler defense's mental collapse on the final drive was a collosal failure that cost them an OT chance.
 , that and not stopping them on 3rd and long on the TD drive hurt as well.
And, of course, the Broncos defense didn't suffer any breakdowns on 3rd and long, either. No, the Broncos barely even showed up, Pittsburgh lost that game all by itself and Denver had nothing to do with it. Clearly Pittsburgh lost that game because they lined up offsides and that penalty gave the Broncos a key third down THAT THEY HAD ALREADY CONVERTED ANYWAY. :goodposting:

Never been a problem when they do throw to him.

I missed the part where someone insinuated that was what cost the Steelers the game. The Broncos cost the Steelers the game. They showed up and gutted out a much needed win. The D-line in particular played great.Criticizing the Steelers does not equal disrespecting the Broncos.Plays like the one in question are, even if a non-factor, reflective of a team's coaching and mental preparation. That is one of the variables that set the stage for the Broncos win. Valid topic to discuss without insult intended to Broncos homers.

I don't know, I just don't see how the fact that Pittsburgh had a player line up in the neutral zone- on a play where Denver lined up incredibly quickly and quicksnapped, mind you- really reflects that poorly on their preparation. I mean, people are practically saying that Pittsburgh must not have even practiced this week because they had an offsides late in the 4th on a quick-snap after everyone on the field was already winded and worn out.

Why are you jumping all over the Steeler fans in this thread? Read through the responses in the past two pages and I think you will find the great majority of Steeler fans like me giving credit to the Broncos. Do you suppose if the Broncos had lost the game in OT that perhaps Bronco fans may also be lamenting individual plays and strategies that led to the defeat? I'm shocked at how adversarial you have been in this thread. I've never seen you this way before.

I'm sorry, I really haven't meant to give the impression of jumping all over Steeler fans. Well, I meant to jump all over Bryhamm a little bit, because the fishing trip starting in post #134 and the repeated harping on the "fumble" (when the replay clearly showed the ball came loose after the Steeler hit the back of Graham's hand) left me thinking of him less as a Steelers fan and more as an embarassing homer. Also, I found the "Jerome Harrison's neutral zone violation on the final drive showed that the Steeler defense was not focused to win." quote to be a bit offensive- are you telling me that, just because a defensive player was offsides on an unexpected quick-snap, giving the Broncos a 3rd down that they'd converted anyway, that this is evidence that the defense didn't care about winning, or wasn't trying to win, or whatever "wasn't focused to win" is supposed to mean? That quote, to me, smacks of "they didn't beat us, we beat ourselves and they were just lucky enough to be facing us this week". Outside of that one poster and that one quote, I haven't had a problem with any Steelers fans in this thread. If fans want to discuss what their team did wrong, or how they shot themselves in the foot, then I'm all for that. It was a pretty sloppy game, and both fan bases have a LOT to discuss regarding that (such as, for starters, the fact that the teams combined to convert 86% of the 3rd-and-10+ situations they faced). Just don't go harping on a roughing the passer call (that was correct), or a completed pass to Graham (that was correct), or a single offsides penalty (that was one of just THREE penalties you committed all day, and which was pretty much irrelevant anyway), because to me, that just sounds like sour grapes.Regardless, I've long considered Steelers fans to be some of the classier fans in the sport (or, at least, I've considered many of the Steelers fans on this site to be- I've known some in person who were real boors). You know I've gone on record supporting them, especially after the 2005 AFCCG, so I really apologize to any of them if I haven't been behaving in a similarly classy manner.

:coffee: The Steelers fans on this board can be a bit much at times. There were probably a handful who -- intentionally or not -- weren't really giving the Broncos their due. I hope I made it clear that the Broncos were deserving victors. I think many Steeler fans don't know exactly what they have in this 2007 team, which may account for more of the discussion tilting in that direction. Thanks for the explanation. It's not like you need to account to me or anything. I'm just another lowly poster. However, I appreciate the thoughts and respect that you took the time to respond. Good luck on a possible second half surge for the Broncos.
