Game Thread W8 - NY Giants V Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

Wow, I have Roethlisberger so I'm rooting for Pitt to keep the ball here, but jesus that was a freaking awful call. They need to either get rid of the "hitting a defenseless receiver" bull#### or just make it illegal to touch a WR until he has complete possession with a catch. It's just ######ed.

First off, Aikman proves once again he's atleast as bad as Dierdorf, probably worse. And Troutwig has twice commented about receivers not getting out of bounds, and we're not even midway through the second quarter. The combination of these two is just attorcious.

The spot after the challenge was too far away and the replays clearly showed Jacobs broke the plane. Absolutely horrible officiating.
You tell me where the replays CLEARLY showed a TDYou just lying to yourself
The overhead view is clear, and the view for the right sideline shows the ball about 6 inches from the plane, then you see the arms extend and the ball disappears. Seeing anything other than that is wishful thinking.
I don't have Jacobs on my team, but I thought view from right clearly show ball broke the plane and should have been TD

So if the WR isn't defenseless, it's a penalty on the WR. And if the WR can't defend himself, it's a penalty on the D. Teams should stack up on wimpy WRs.

All you see from the aerial view is is his helmet crossing the GL and shoulder maybe touching it.The ball was behind his shoulder based on where he was holding it from the other view

You see nothing of the ball from the aerial view

Did Nate Washington go unconscious for a moment after the helmet-to-helmet on the Int?

Would be nice if he could stay in the game for me. :)

Giants defense is an example of a middle of the road defense who is much better because of the speed and intensity they play with.

If Hines gets fined for his hit on Rivers, Phillips should get fined for that
Hines didnt deserve the fine he got, but Im sure Phillips will be fined for that and probably the hit on the int will get a fine too. League is trying to ruin the game.

Tomlin probably should have let the NFL discipline Holmes since they are still going to do that anyway. This passing game looks pretty bad without him in there.

Hines got fined?!As of this morning, he hadnt been fined yetAnd that Phillips hit was much closer, if it wasnt, to H2H than Hines hit

YeahI dont know if Holmes was in 'the program' or not, bc that will likely depend if he gets suspended at all, but Tomlin def jumped to conclusions on this

Im pretty sure Holmes hasnt even been charged with anything yet

Id like to see the Stillers put some points on the board here since the O hasnt done chit since that first drive

Seriously, does Aikman have a deal with the devil or compromising pictures of someone at Fox? How is he one of their marque announcers?

If for any other reason, deferring to kick for the Steelers was the right call since everyone knew Plex wasnt gonna play the first series

I guess Fox cant say marijuana

Funny how they just refer to it as 'what happened late in the week'

They can talk about multiple DUI's, making it rain at strip clubs, and beating someone up, but not ganja

Its been like that the last 2 years brotha
Only 2 years for the third down D? Try about 6-8. That problem goes back well into the Cowher years.Apparently, all Washington does is catch long TDs.I still don't like the guy that much. But they needed that BIG time.

Third and 8....they only rush 3. Good thing Smith dropped the damn ball.

Steelers could put a real stranglehold on this if they can get into the EZ again on this possession.

TrueSuper Bowl XL still clouds my vision about the few years before it in some aspectsWhat really goes back to the Cowher years is sh***y special teams. Our coverage has improved, but when you have Davenport as your return man, somethings wrong

That big play was HUGE

NYG look a little demoralized, we seem energized

Id like the crowd to get a little louder though. Just bc were on offense, doesnt mean you cant make a little noise!!
