Game Thread W9 - Baltimore V Cleveland (1 Viewer)

Interesting matchup in that both teams have been playing pretty well and a loss by either would probably spell an end to their playoff hopes, slim as they may be.

Rice owners--he started, and on opening drive had runs of 5, 2, -1. Caught a pass for 6. Let's hope he shows them something today.

FG by the Ravens counts as a small win for the Brownies D after the bad punt and penalty.
Yeah, but Romeo should have taken the penalty, made 3rd and 21 a the 32 and possibly force a field goal out of the range of Stover. Romeo strikes again.

After a Cleveland turnover gives the Ratbirds possession at midfield, Flacco, with all day in the pocket, finds Clayton deep for a 47-yard score.

I think the Brownies can move the ball against this team but they've got to give themselves a fighting chance. That's not Kyle Boller back there botching simple handoffs this year. Flacco can actually handle the rock with competence.

So are now to assume that McGahee is another Active scratch or has he actually been on the field?
That's what it is looking like. I've blasted people for saying this before but I'm going to go ahead and say it. I will never have Mcgahee on my fantasy team ever again. The active scratch and early exit from games is just more than I can take and his performance when he plays fails to make up for this crap.

A little dissappointed b/c I have both mcGahee and Rice and started McGahee b/c everything pointed to McGahee getting touches this week. Up to gametime the report was that McGahee plays.

It baffles me that the Browns haven't done anything at the WR position. Steptoe should be a WR5 for some team, but the Browns have had to play him a lot. It sure seems like they could have found a better option by now.

And now Cribbs makes the earlier miscues moot by returning the ensuing kickoff all the way back. Poor coverage by the Ravens special teams, who should know better by now since Cribbs burned them badly last year.

Hey I understand, but this move doesn't make sense from a football perspective. This is a divisional game. If McGahee can go he should be in there. Right now it's working for them, but if he really can't play they should have brought in another RB and made him inactive. Seems like a waste of roster spot if I'm the coach.

You have to love football. Browns down 10-0. FOX sports breaks in with a studio gamebreak to talk about how the Ravens are up big....oops 10-6 Browns just got a TD.

If I had to design a sport, I'd make it so any given play has a small chance to result in a huge amount of points.

Pretty good drive so far by the Ratbirds, starting at their own 20 after the KO return. Mostly using no huddle, which Flacco handles fairly well for one so inexperienced.

Heard a blurb on the radio pre-game show that Baltimore leads the league in third down conversion ratio. That in itself shows how much better they are offensively this year than last with Boller. They're testing the Browns' secondary deep today, too.

Anderson continues to struggle with his accuracy. I'm not sure how long the Browns will keep playing him if he continues to struggle.

Another blown opportunity for the Ravens after getting pretty good field position again. In the face of a blitz, Flacco threw behind Rice who had lots of running room.

As badly as their offense has played, Cleveland just needs to get a little rhythm going 'cuz the Ravens probably aren't gonna pile up a lot of points.

Is Braylon dropping passes or not even getting looks? With the injuries to the ravens 2ndary, I expected at least SOMETHING.

Everything that I saw this morning said that McGahee was active today but now it seems he won't see the field. It drives me crazy that they do this, why not let us know so I can at least put in Rice.

He had a catch on the Browns' last drive for the tying FG. Pretty slick drive, too. Jamal had a couple of tough runs, the Oline gave DA some time and he hooked up with just about all his receivers. Only a questionable spot might have kept them out of the end zone.

Nice answering drive by Baltimore, the big play coming on a Rice run. But both teams are struggling in the red zone and this one is still anybody's game.

Shaun Rogers is playing pretty well in the middle of the Cleveland defense.

McGahee is dressed but has the cape on and it doesn't look like he's in their plans today. If he was, they would have used him already. Looks like Rice is the man today.

Wow, 54 yard FG by Dawson to tie it at the half. Edwards had a big catch on that drive.

Phil Dawson has the biggest forehead in pro football.

Three plays to start the second half and momentum changes big time. Refs miss an offsides call on third down, that bleepin' Cribbs kills the Ratbirds with another big punt return and then Edwards makes a great catch in the end zone.

Big test for Baltimore to keep its composure, trailing for the first time and things going wrong.

Browns showing some life. Ravens probably need to do something here to slow down the momentum if they want to stay in this game.

Another smart drive for Anderson. The WRs, especially Edwards, are just abusing the Baltimore corners. With the passing game clicking, it's also helping to open some holes for Jamal. Ratbirds are in deep trouble here.

Monster drive by the Ravens to stay alive in this game. Brownies had 'em on the ropes on the first set of downs but Joe hit a 20-yard shot to Mason on third and sixteen to keep it alive. The no huddle continues to be effective and the running game is coming alive just as the Cleveland secondary is upping its game against the receivers.

Pretty good game.

3 and out for the Browns, a 24 yard punt return by Figurs and the Ravens have good field position again against a defense that just gave up an 80 yard drive.

DA needs to improve his slant reads. The Ravens could have had 11 guys standing out there on that last 3rd down play and DA would have still thrown that pass. Immediately after the snap he looked there, never took his eyes off that WR and then threw it straight into the arms of the DE. Please stop doing that.

Whoa, too easy. Down the middle to Clayton, then the Ravens catch Cleveland in a blitz, throw the quick out to Mason, who makes one move and is gone. Again with the no huddle. Brownies D is back on its heels a little.

Now becoming a really good game.

Oh, that's a horrible drop by Edwards. He's had a pretty good day but that one was like some of his earlier games. Third down, would've been a huge gainer.

Braylon Edwards drops a bomb that was fed RIGHT INTO HIS HANDS. Probably would have been a TD.

That play might be the one that costs the Browns the game...

Dude has got to get some help with catching balls.

Rice could have driven a truck through that hole, but I'm not complaining about his 60-yard scamper.

McClain immediately coming in, though, is irritating.

Wow, just wow.

The Edwards drops, the Rice run to set up the go ahead FG and then Anderson's terrible interception that Suggs takes to the house. Cleveland is gonna see this as a very winnable game that got away from them.

So, we browns fast have witnessed it for years. Just another Sunday.

How could they send Anderson back onto the field after that INT on the screen play. The fans are getting VERY restless.
