Game Thread - Wildcard - Washington V Tampa Bay (1 Viewer)

jwvdcw's grammar lesson of the day:The past tense of "spit" is not "spit." It is "spat."Thank you. Carry on.

well if he spit in Pittman's face first you can't really blame Pittman for slapping him in the helmet.
yes. Pittman should've still been flagged and ejected.
 Since when has an NFL player been allowed to openly hit a player right in front of a referee and not get a penalty or ejected? Eject Taylor for spitting - fine, but you can't swallow the whistle for a player punching another one because he spat upon him. At least offsetting - should have been a dual ejection.

Sean Taylor is now ejected. And he apparently (according to McQuire) spit on Pittman.

Man I hope they have concealed weapon laws in TB concerning Taylor

Now it is getting violent. :boxing:
I hope they don't and he uses the weapon on Theisman and McGuire. :hot: :hot:

Spitting....grow up Taylor. If we can get out of this game, he might have to miss the next one if the league drops a suspension.
I remember Romanowski also spit on someone once. I think its often something you get with very talented players - they are so good because of the fact that they are so aggressive. At the same time, you will have to deal with events like this.

JJ Stokes. Right in the grill.I wouldn't use Bill Romanowski as an example of anything except for Low Class.

Rice is a beast. He singlehandledly shut this drive down and possibly kept tampa in the game there.

 Flag-yes. Ejected-no
since when can you punch a guy and not get ejected in the NFL?
I've seen it 1,000 times. Especially since it was more of a push to his helmet or a slap, not a punch. I have only seen ejections in extreme circumstances. You must be thinking of the NBA.

Redskins still winning the game of field position here, with the Buccaneers starting this drive once again behind their 20. About the 16 to be exact? What the Buccaneers really need is some kind of huge play to turn field position around.

yes, that was a very costly sack. A FG would've been huge at this point in the game. I'm still confident in our D, but I"m definitely nervous.

With Taylor out of the game, Galloway has to be licking his chops

From the NFL Rule Book:

15 Yards (and disqualification if flagrant)

1. Striking opponent with fist.

2. Kicking or kneeing opponent.

3. Striking opponent on head or neck with forearm, elbow, or hands whether or not the initial contact is made below the neck area.

4. Roughing kicker.

5. Roughing passer.

6. Malicious unnecessary roughness.

7. Unsportsmanlike conduct.

8. Palpably unfair act. (Distance penalty determined by the Referee after consultation with other officials.)

15 Yards and Automatic Disqualification

1. Using a helmet (not worn) as a weapon.

2. Striking or purposely shoving a game official.
I had always been under the impression that any punch/slap to the head resulted in disqualification, but apparently it has to be "flagrant." (Pittman should have been penalized, however, and I think that ejection would not have been out of order.)

THERE was a huge play.Simms escapes the pressure, avoids the sack, and, throws out of bounds? NO! complete a deep pass!

In the name of mercy, someone please shoot Scuzzy Kolber and put her out of our misery already. Man I hate the token female reporter bit. Either get a really hot one and have her prace around in minimal clothing or skip it altogether.

I can't stand her either. She has to sensationalize everything.

I'd hoped the Taylor incident had cut down on the Sims ball licking fest but it looks like I was wrong. SHUT UP ABOUT SIMS ALREADY YOU EMBISALS(abc crew). He's played fairly well but he's not a freaking 1st ballot HOF'er yet. :hot: :hot:

Good call.

Cadillac showing lots of ability to turn a dump off pass in the flat into a nice 9 yard gain.

Gruden going for it (4th and 1 from the ?17?). Or is it to draw them offside?

Being a Patriots fan, I have grown used to Belichick going for it a lot on 4th down while coach of the Patriots. Anytime I see a coach pass up a 4th and short, I shake my head.
