Gaming laptop help (1 Viewer)

Tried posting this in the "build a gaming rig" thread, but no response, so we'll try this way:

Totally clueless in this space, but my son is interested in the following laptop (needs to be portable, as he shuttles between households):

Just looking for some assistance as to whether this is a good product at a good price or there are better options to consider.

Which model is your son considering?  I'd push towards something with a bigger SSD drive as that is where you get the greatest increase in speed and gaming experience.

Also, Costco has been running some pretty sweet gaming laptop deals recently.  I'd shop around there too.

MSI is a great manufacturer - never purchased one of their laptop rigs, but I'd bet they're of good quality.  Here's one closer to the price range you posted your sell at: https://m.newegg.com/Product/Details?itemnumber=N82E16834154241. I wouldn't buy the Dell, but that's just me.

Down the road, you can do some upgrades, including a larger SSD (500gb would be nice for lots of gaming) and potentially a little moe memory, although it's already cruising at what it's at.
