GANGNAM STYLE (1 Viewer)

Koreans and the Japanese idolize their musical groups, the popular ones become uberpopular because everyone (literally everyone in their countries) buys in on the trend, kind of like how pop music is typically just catchy garbage (which they are absolutely okay with) just to the nth degree. This one just happened to skip over the pond.

J and K Pop are the truely the greatest evils this world has ever known.

Terrible. Worst thing is that it was filmed right here in Bakersfield. The street corner at the very beginning is about 200 yards from my house. :lmao:

I will have to delegate the wife to candy duty, as I woud punch the first kid who rang the doorbell dressed/dancing like that

My 3 yr old son was running around the house singing "MR UNDERSTAR!" Took us about 10 minutes to figure out he was singing this song

Man does that guy get it. Waived copyright, gives free concerts and he's going to make a fortune.

How much of a power trip does it have to be to have 80,000 people in ecstasy like that?

Here are the translated lyrics. I didn't look at them because I am sure it would diminish the awesomeness that is this song

It reminds me of 99 Luft Balloons. It was really cool in German, but then when it was translated to English it wasn't as cool.
 They're witty enough. Not as deep as Nena I can't stand it but it's funny and the dude seems like a riot, good for him.
From reading the Wiki page it's mocking the stuck up people of Gangham, sort of the Beverly Hills of Seoul, so it's not something that translates well.

This just in: South Korea is overflowing with hot chicks.I wonder how many of them PSY samples each night.
0 dude likes the dudes
 married with a couple of kids
He comes across as very articulate, educated, with a laid back personality in his interviews.

Saw a clip of him on Ellen teaching Britney the dance. Looks like a fun dude, Britney on the other hand....she's probably an awful lay.

Also from Wiki:Both the Greater Gangnam Area and Gangnam itself are widely known for its heavily concentrated wealth and high standard of living, which has been compared to cities such as Beverly Hills, California. The most significant indicator is its extremely expensive real estate. Seoul as a whole is already known for its expensive house prices and as of 2011, its average apartment costs approximately US$5,500 per m2, but the average price in Gangnam is almost twice as high, roughly US$10,000 per m2, which is 3.5 times the nationwide average. As for land value, a mere 40 km2 land of Gangnam district rivals with the entire land value of the city of Busan, the second largest city in South Korea. Combined with the neighboring districts of Seocho and Songpa, Greater Gangnam Area account for almost 10% of land value of the entire country.
