24-7 ON THE ROAD???

And it shouldn't have been that close - if not for the (errr) Big 10 refs calling the game...

"What separates No. 1 and No. 2? One digit? Much more than that, evident in Ohio State's 24-7 win at Texas. Now, the hard part: Riding this toward a title, the way the Longhorns did after winning in Columbus in '05"

Oh, and to keep it "pool" relevant...

Are Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr. solid 1st rounders??

Texas at #2 was a big stretch this year. I'm an OSU fan and did not like what I saw from us on defense at all. The LB's were biting on too many fakes and unable to relocate the ball. The CB's are weak on fundamentals, although I liked what I saw athletically. If I were Texas I would have hardly thrown a pass in the second half, the run was working too well especially outside. If we were playing Notre Dame this week, they would have raped our defense. That being said, I know that they are mostly freshman and hope they can improve enough in time. Our offense did a fantastic job with a weaker O-line.

I'm not an OSU fan. But I agree 100% with GB the Buckeyes. This game screamed "take your bookies money" and I did. Losing two top NFL draft picks from the secondary, and of course the main reason Texas won last years game (Young) and then laying 3.5 to a team of the caliber of OSU was beutiful.

Combine this with the Pitt (Steeler) cover and I am very happy going into Sunday. If this continues, I'll pay for my Raider season tickets in one weekend.

I only have 1 more bet this weekend now. SeaHawks -6.5 to Detroit is a joke. Thank you bookie for taking that bet.

Sorry I don't mean to hijack the thread. GB the Buckeyes! They did a hell of a job for me this week.

Buckeyes were the better team Saturday night, but I thought a lot of calls or non-calls went the Buckeyes way. On the Ginn TD, the LT was blantantly obvious holding big time. There also was the obvious pass interference call on the Bucks that was not called. These are just two examples. No way is Troy Smith an NFL 1st rd pick and Ginn will go early just based on his physical abilities.

What about that horrible roughing the passer call against OSU? That was the worst call of the game...and instead of a field goal, enabled Texas to get their only TD.

tOSU had better learn how to tackle before they play a team with a real offense. They had so many opportunities to stop runs for little or no gain, but instead gave up 5-8 yards. Texas just did a poor job of capitalizing on these opportunities

Why not? what are your reasons for saying this. He seems to have matured off the field, which is big because he had many problems the past couple of seasons. He has an above average arm. He is accurate. He is very strong and mobile. Also he is showing an ability to be a leader.Perhaps I'm blinded by homerism, but I see a great qb with a lot of upside as a pro.Top 10 pick in my opiniom.

Doug Flutie was better and was he a 1rst round pick?

Drew Tate at Iowa and Smith are both great QB's but they will be lucky to get drafted because of there size.

Ill answer your question with a question: Who is the #2 RB in SF? When was he drafted?

I could have looked good against that Texas pass defense last night. Smith just played pitch and catch all night. I think Smith will get drafted, but it won't be until middle rounds.

I'm a buckeye fan and I can't figure out why Texas even tried to pass the ball.

psh. Troy Smith? Ted Ginn? How about Colt McCoy!! The kid (looks like he) is 12 years old. If he goes into the NFL in 2 years he might have the longest career ever!

As a buckeye fan they looked really really solid. Wow. The Texans strong points: defense, oline, rushing. All of that looked pretty bad against the bucks. Esp the best cover corner in the nation giving up so much to Ginn.

I don't know about Smith being a legit nfl qb just yet. We do have a lot of games to see that though. He has a really really strong arm, was hitting Ginn and Gonz well and can run too.

Ginn for heisman?

This is some great NFL info. Thanks. And by the way nobody f-ing cares.
