When my wife asks me to take care of something, for example getting our new dog a vet appointment because its easier for me to do it, then when I tell her what it cost or what I did, she then asks why didn't you do this or that or why did you pay for that, or why didnt you look for a coupon or why dont you schedule a different time next time but check to see if im busy, or why are we paying for this instead......................

now that i'm old and infirm, i'm almost as bothered that i've no offspring to look after or even ask about me now as others would think me to be. then i remember that the most dramatic response i ever emitted when chided by a significant for drill (as a matter of cause was different, of course) was laughter and i instantly become fine with the bargain i made.
