Get it On! Rookie Draft Discussion Thread (2 Viewers)

Calvin Pace and Bryant Johnson?Silly silly cardinals. After pulling off a brilliant trade, they blow it with the picks.F
If that's who they wanted ARI should have moved down again. Perhaps they tried but were not successful.
Shouldn't have moved down in the first place. They got caught up in doing the 'popular' thing instead of just drafting their guy.Could they have been scared off by the 'hometown hero' tag (and disappointment that Jake Plummer made of it)?

Anyone catch the EA Sports commercial with Terrell Suggs and Ray Lewis? It's almost like they knew that Suggs was going to the Raven's before the draft...
They've ALL been done with Ray Lewis

*#$@! Canadian coverage of the draft has ended! NHL playoffs coming on and no other station is going to finish the Draft. :wall:

I would agree, if they also drafted Carson Palmer, Terence Newman, and the other "commercial" guys

Maybe you just tuned in -- EA is running several spots with Lewis and various first rounders, incl. Rogers and Palmer.

Sure. But Arizona has need all over the place. Take the best player available and be happy.Boss Bailey, Kyle Boller, Chris Kelsay... all have slid down the draft board a bit. Would have been great value and fill the swiss cheese holes everywhere that zona has.
Many have said there are only 13-15 players with first round grades this year. If they have lots of needs they should have down further again to get more picks. I think we'll see many "surprising" picks now as the difference in teams' draft boards become more apparent.

Cards could have traded down and gotten Pace. I think they could have stayed where they were #6 & #37 and gotten Suggs/Washington, which is a better option than what they ended up with.
IMO-Washington won't be there. Then again, I've not done well predicting anything. Even Martz went BPA. What is the world coming too?

Boller still ends up in the Ravens hands! Give them, an A so far.Next up Denver. Either Witten or Bailey makes sense here.

There would have been someone there with equal skills...Jacobs, K. Washington

Don't be surprised when KC selects McGahee at 27.
I'm kinda thinking that they don't want a RB now. I don't think Larry Johnson will be there for their pick. If Holmes isnt healthy, you don't want McGahee. If Holmes is healthy, why would you need McGahee???

Well at least you got to see some of it. We have zero coverage down here.
Your not missing mush. ONLY THE MOST EXCITING, SURPRISING, INTRIGUING NFL DRAFT IN THE HISTORY OF THE LEAGUE. The commentators don't have the info either so you are getting it close to real time.

Unbelievable start to the Ravens draft. They got the quarterback they wanted later in the first round and a potential gem in Terrell SuggsRavens = A+ after two picks!

I agree this is better than listening to ESPN radio and Sean Salisbury.

So what did the Pats get for there pick???
Ravens get: No. 19 overall pick.Patriots get: Baltimore's second-round pick (No. 41) and the Ravens' No. 1 pick in the 2004 draft. The fallout: The Ravens couldn't let Terrell Suggs slip past them when he fell to No. 10, but Brian Billick still managed to get the player he really wanted in Cal QB Kyle Boller by making the deal with the Pats.Edit: From ESPN.com

Great draft for Baltimore so far, Seattle also doing well getting Trufant at #11.On the bright side for Arizona, I think they've locked up the #1 pick in 2004.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOI KNEW BB WOULDN'T LET US DOWN!!!!

Skyrattlers.....whoa are us being Canadian. As for how Baltimore did, how in the world can you say they did well or bad, or any team for that matter, when they haven't played a game yet? :hot: I never did understand the so-called grades for players when they never have played in the NFL. Be here in five years from now and then tell me how Baltimore and all the other teams did!

Buffalo: Where do they go now that Mcdougle and Haynes are gone?

There might be a nice WR waiting for them. Should they take Washington if he's there?

With the way the Ravens are shaping up this offseason, that #1 pick should be well into the first, at least.Still a fairly high price to pay, but Baltimore got the guy they wanted. I heard something earlier that Minnesota had agreed to a trade with Baltimore for the #7, but the clock ran out. Anyone hear any details on that near-deal?

I will, if the defense gells, their 1st rounder next year might be pretty far down the board.
Oh, I think they get the A+ now. That was a fair price for the pick. I was worried that they did something even more ridiculous to get their guy.I hate to see the Patriots with two first rounders and two second rounders next year, though...

I guess the Pats did not see as much value with the #19 pick, and are looking for next year.I think this was a good trade.

Like everything, the grades are based on the best info at the time :) .With the number of busts, however, I certainly get your point. But they're having a good draft...maybe not a good 2003 team...
