Giants at Panthers (2 Viewers)

Newton is a better fantasy QB than he is a real life QB - I wish people would stop interchanging the two.
Coming into this game, Cam had a QB rating of over 100, led the league in ypa, and was completing nearly 70% of his passes.He's 23 years old and already a very good real life QB.

To be a good real life qb he needs less Int's and needs to be more consistent. I don't think he'll ever get there in those aspects of his game.

Well, I don't buy the consistency argument that lots of people use against Cam. All of his numbers are at least average game in game out. If you are saying he does not consistanly throw up 350 and 3 then I can get on board with that. With that said, he puts up elite numbers more than most QB's.

He threw 17 ints as a rookie starting every single game and with no training camp. That's not a high number.And you're ready to conclude that he'll never do something after 18 starts and at 23 years old.Ok, thanks.

@JennyVrentas

Incredible 1st-half stats --> Manning 18-of-23, 169 yds, TD. Brown: 13 carries, 96 yds. Barden: 6 catches, 107 yds. Newton: 0 rush yds. #nyg

I am ready to conclude that he will never win a Super Bowl .

I usually don't pay any attention to retrospectives or the producer's idea of what makes a good story, but that was an interesting piece on Steve Sabol (using his own words). What a great contribution he made to the NFL - he's one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with the league 40+ years ago.

Based on what, the crystal ball you have in your basement? He is a 2nd year qb. Eli didn't put it all together until his 4th or 5th year. He is 2 seasons removed from a 20+ int season. Alex smith is just now starting to look like the qb people thought he could be after many years as a bust. What makes you think can can't put it all together? Qb position takes time to master. Cams already ahead of the curve.

No question. Most important non-player/coach in the history of sports. That's what Steve/Ed are IMO.

:goodposting:

the hell is a Ramses Barden? And why is he taking all of Victor Cruz's production?

oh, and you Giants fans can thank me for the goose egg so far for Carolina. After two weeks of only getting a couple of points from the Giants D i ditched them for other favorable matchups in the few leagues I had them. Don't know why I focused on getting them this year. they've been terrible at home. but now all world on the road? Or does Carolina just suck this bad? How are they not attacking the Gmen secondary?

And good job mentioning his dad, I should have noted that.

Cruz is out there on sore legs. They arent gonna go to him unless they had to or he is WIDE OPEN.

Well look at it this way the panthers would have to put on a dizzying arial display in the second half to make a game of it and that has potential to be fun viewing.

Every year there is that one guy that gets picked up on waivers and goes on to help an owner win their superbowl. I have a feeling it was this week. Congrats if you were lucky enough to land Brown!
Great post in September. He could be the next Frisman Jackson!!

good job, mayock. first you talk about how amazing sabol and his work was, then you talk about A22 and end-zone views and how they really show you the game.

i can feel the league office cringing from here.
