Giants at Tampa (1 Viewer)

Now that the Giants have 10 wins and no other NFC Wild Card team can get past 9, we know the Giants are the #5 seed and will play at #4 Tampa in Wild Card weekend.

What are your thoughts about this game? I think Tampa is thrilled that they won't have to play Washington or the Vikings.

The Giants are really banged up and will struggle to throw against TB. Between an OL that does not pas protect well and no receiving threat (Plax is hobbled, Shockey is out, Toomer is weak, Sinorice Moss stinks and is out and Steve Smith - the one Hope for Giant fans dropped a perfectly thrown 50+ yard bomb right in his hands). The Giants will need to run the ball incredibly well and get some big TO's to win. Then again, TB could stink up the joint like they did against SF and lose???

As a Bucs fan, I'm very very excited to see the opposing QB in the playoffs, on the road, be Eli Manning.

And for the guy who said the Bucs laid an egg in SF -- the starters were on the pine for most of the game.

two things generally hurt the Bucs, a straight-ahead running back and a good tight-end. Luckily Shockey's out, but Jacobs scares me a bit as a Bucs fan.

The fact that the Giants are even in the playoffs is amazing. An easy win and a bunch of pissed off New Yorkers is a beautiful thing.

As a Giant fan i'm elated we are playing the Bucs. Not that i think they are pushover, but we have some pretty bad memories in Seattle. I'm glad we get to play in warm weather too ( i know seattle is a dome) but after watching Eli play in the cold weather two weeks in a row, i'm glad thats being avoided. the defense needs to shut down big plays from galloway. Also, a lot of people have been talking about how bad the giants strength of schedule is, TB must play in the worst division in football???

 And to those talking about Wash. I doubt anyones trying to avoid Todd Collins, Giants are better then Washington. I know what the Giants are but I think they should win this game, If Eli shows up at all the Giants are much better, and warm weather should help alot.

did TB lose their game on purpose this past week to avoid the Redskins? Why did they rest their starters in the 2nd half?
The only way the Bucs could have leapfrogged the Seahawks (and thus get the #3 seed) was to end the season with a better record than them. I imagine when they weighed the likelihood of that happening with their possible 1st round opponents, it didn't make sense to risk injury to their aging starters. It's not quite the same as the AFC where no one seemingly wants to play either JAX or NE. The NFC doesn't appear to have one of those teams atm (I mean would the Bucs rather play @ GB or @ DAL should they win in round 1)?

Actually, TAM's schedule is harder than NYG's. Through week 15, TAM's schedule was .4796 and NYG's was .4694. Even more telling, TAM's strength of victory (i.e., strength of schedule of just the teams they defeated) is .3968, versus .3254 for NYG.Edit: Note that if you prefer to look at strength of schedule/victory excluding games against the team in question, those numbers become:TAM: .489 / .4274NYG: .478 / .3504-=kwantam

Seattle hasn't played in a dome for quite some time.
