Giants Homers (1 Viewer)

Don't want to bail on him but I note he had some off-season injuries and surgery. He missed his only FG attempt Sunday and it was only 39 yards, as I recall.

Are the Giants passing up long field goals at this point?

Has anyone seen him kicking that can offer some insight?

Yes. His 39 yarder was blocked because it barely got off the ground. That was Tynes's first live FG attempt since his preseason thigh injury, and it was repugnant. Tynes has always been a "fingers-crossed" kind of kicker for the Giants, even at his best, and I think losing Sage Rosenfels as his holder + the preseason injury bodes very poorly for Tynes and the Giants this year.

not any more worried about Tynes than I am about Eli completing passes to guys wearing the same colored jerseys as he is.. :wall:

I'd look elsewhere for a starting kicker.

I do think the Giants are worried about a lack of distance from Tynes, but that just means the offense has to do a better job of getting into field goal position in the first place..

Doubt Tynes loses his job this season, but he's not the most reliable kicker. As far as last weeks "pick six" RT Kareem McKenzie is more to blame, he's a top RT and failed to move or knock his man down on the play. It being a quick pass play, Eli threw where it was supposed to go but the RT didn't do his job and the LB made a great play.

Any player the chiefs drop because they aren't good enough to make the team shouldn't be on most other teams. nough said

By the way this is coming from a chiefs homer.

Are you stressing over a kicker?
Rest of my team is solid, kicker is less than stellar. Seems to merit consideration if I intend to win my league. I would have won my first game much more easily if he'd hit a relatively short field goal.
