Giants RBs not named David Wilson thread (1 Viewer)

Jacobs will be the lone starter until either Wilson can play or Brown returns. Don't expect 100 and 2, but he will be a RB3 or Flex until then.

Jacobs running well pretty much bursts the balloon on the fantasy thinking that Wilson is good and it is just his OL that sucks.

False for several reasons:

1. This is the first time all season the Giants have fielded the same offensive line in consecutive games.

2. The Bears were fielding a 4th string defensive tackle

If you've watched all the Giants games this season and then watched the game last night, you'd see what I mean. My mother could have averaged 4ypc with the holes the offensive line was making for him in the first half.

Anyone see any reports on health of Jacobs (had thigh wrap on last drive) or Scott (went down in the 4th). Is Cox worth a flier on a deep bench?

You guys that picked him up are the sharks. He wasn't even a thought to me.
I put him in my lineup because this is EXACTLY how I thought it would go down.
Link and written proof it wasn't a desperation play in a 32 team league
I played Jacobs in one league. where Spiller is iffy, wilson is hurt, lamar miller is on bye and ryan mathews is awful and concussed

Brandon Jacobs going nuts on TNF.

So~

A) Giants 0-line playing better and opening holes for Jacobs that weren't there for Wilson?

B) "Holes?" Jacobs asks. "I don't need no stinking holes!"

C) Wilson sucks?

D) All/None of the above?
Jacobs is keeping the position warm for Brown. So he has 3 more games to play then will turn over the reins to the future of the Giants running game. And yes Wilson Sucks.

We might see Cox by default
Giants rookie RB Michael Cox says the coaching staff has informed him he will play in Week 7 against the Vikings.
Cox is worth grabbing in 14- and 16-team leagues, and should've been rostered in all Dynasty settings weeks ago. He flashed plus burst and lateral movement in the preseason. Still, don't expect a significant Week 7 workload. "There are some things that I think right now we feel good about," coach Tom Coughlin said regarding Cox. "There are other things not so [good]." The Giants don't know yet whether Cox can adequately protect Eli Manning.

If Wilson is active and Jacobs still has legs this situation becomes impossible to handicap.

We should remember that there is a reason why Brandon Jacobs was a free agent.

Think of it in relation to Kevin Smith last year. He came back, out of nowhere, and was a bit of a force but only for a little while.

What Smith had and Jacobs has going for them is they both came back to a familiar environment and they were both fresh while playing against

teams that were starting to get worn down and experiencing injuries on the defensive side of the ball. And, of course, they get that energy of just being able to come back.

But, after a couple of games, those things wear off and chances are good we will be reminded of the things that put them on the street to begin with.

With both of these players, that is likely the inability to stay healthy at this point in their careers.§

Giants running game is a dumpster fire. Avoid if possible
In a league of 12 teams or more, especially dynasty or leagues with deep benches, if you have this attitude you will never maximize your team's talent. Every running back holds value no matter how bad the team is. If a guy like Cox gets a chance to shine he could be a lottery ticket. Cox should have been rostered in dynasty leagues at the start of this season.

From what I've heard Coughlin says Cox runs hard, and he could inject some life into the running game. He runs erect and that can get him trouble sometimes. "You need to know when to hit it hard,or take what you can get and soften the blow",coach said. He runs in quick spurts, but coaches say he can keep it up all night if he has to. "Bottom line is he's a gamer, but he needs better knowledge of when to hit the hole."

He still has to beat out some stiff competition.

And he looks great in the blue helmet....

The sexual innuendo is over the top.

:lmao:

So, can we safely assume Coughlin never intends to use Cox as a RB?

He's now signed 2 old dudes off the couch and brought back a guy they cut to keep from having to hand the ball to Cox.

Is Hillis even worth consideration? If Jacobs can come in off the streets and have a productive day, then it seems to suggest Hillis might have the same potential. I think it's a crapshoot until Brown comes back, at which point I think it's his show, but the others are worth consideration as desperation bye-week fillers until then.

Took a flyer cause wth. If he does nothing he's waiver fodder then. I don't know if jacobs shot his load with that one game. Doesn't seem like he'll stay healthy the r est of the way. So why not Hillis. Seems like the perfect coughlin type if guy.

So now in the mix:

Jacobs

Cox

Wilson

Hillis

Brown

Wow.

- I am picking up Brown today, I believe.... just hunching but I am guessing the Giants will try (try) to close strong and just may pull it together for their jobs and their coach. If Jacobs can plod through those holes then Brown ought to do very well.

They close:

13 12/1 @WAS - - - - - 14 12/8 @SD - - - - - 15 12/15 SEA - - - - - 16 12/22 @DET

Just to be safe and make sure I get some action, I'm holding on to Wilson and rostering Jacobs, Brown, Cox, Ware, and Tiki Barber.

How about one of these:

:obc:

Or maybe, let me just whip this out {shrieks}:

:pickle:

Or maybe just pick up Andre Brown.
