cos - You really ought to talk to a local P&D expert before trying this stuff. Would save you so much trouble and money in the long run. If you can catch me in a sober moment, I can recommend some people.
I have hired such before, but I can read the city code and understand it as well as most of them. Code not only restricts but empowers and gives you rights and I have used that knowledge and those rights repeatedly to create advantages. The problem was not me and understanding the code, the problem was the city staffers over-reaching and denying me entitlements through the code that the city wrote.
Yeah........but those people deal with staffers every day and have the relationships that allow them to interpret the code to fit their goals on a way that an outsider can't do.

The first time my wife and I went to Vegas was a million years ago for her 25th birthday. I did the $20 trick and mentioned it was our first time in Vegas and it was my wife's birthday (this was at the now defunct Aladdin). We got a kick-### suite overlooking the Bellagio fountains. It didn't have a bowlling alley or anything, but it had a jacuzzi and porn on the tv.
The first time I ever took my wife to Vegas we had a suite at the Bellagio overlooking the Bellagio fountains and now she's a ##### about wherever we stay because it doesn't live up to that standard. Don't be that version of me.

I get your point, but I promise I'll end up with what I want. I just had an invigorating afternoon trashing bureaucrats on their idiocy. They wrote the code and its a double-edged sword that I know how to wield.

On another matter, you should bring the boys by the new house sometime soon. My contractor was back fishing in the creek yesterday and causght a couple of nice bass 50 feet from my back door. I say soon because the creek will likely be dry by July,

I am happy to report the $20 trick still works. Had to throw in some sweet talk, but I got a Jacuzzi Suite for about $35 a night. Time to get out there and gamble!
Where at?
Four Queens. Still not what you'd call fancy, but the extra room is nice for six nights.
Nice. How do the rooms at 4Q compare to Nugget or The D/Fitz? If you know.

And be sure to say "hi" to Kimmie the bartender at the Chicago Brewery place in the 4Q. Huge Chicago Bear fan.

We've been back. Way ####tier rooms.

GN and The D are better, hands down, but 4Q is much cheaper. I'll post a pic later.

Been through several of these, mostly just worthless bureacrats waving their ##### around. Best to show up with counsel nip in bud

Been through dozens. Prefer to get same results and pocket the four figure charges a pro costs. In some counties/cities I coddle. In Austin you need to let them know you know the code and are not to be trifled with, when the code supports your position. If they didn't know it was a losing battle, they wouldn't have brought in six staffers on an out of city limits small-time project.

Fuuuuuuuuuck coaching my kids in any sports. It took one soccer season to figure that one out.

Also, finally watching Guardians of the Galaxy. Pretty entertaining.
It's a Marvel movie and therefore it is terrible, you half-wit. /tanner

Coaching is fun. Coaching your own kid isn't.
I enjoy it. I do NOT enjoy Spring Soccer weather in Portland, though. Freaking cold and wet right now. First practice tomorrow with 18 10-12 year old boys. 18....and I'm the only coach tomorrow. Neat.
Well your kids must be more "father coachable" than most. That's a great deal for you.

Pretty sure I was high as balls when I saw that million ways to die in the west movie and didn't laugh once. It was one of the worst things ever.

Between that and Tanner watching 50 shades of gray his movie tastes are suspect imo.

Million Ways was the only movie I walked out of last year. I did chuckle at Silverman a few times, but overall it was horrid.

 Again, never said "Million Ways" was good. There were a few good laughs IMO.

And I watched "50 Shades" for the trainwreck factor.

What could go wrong?

Do we like Orphan Black? Just finished S1and im a fan.
Can't speak for anyone else, but I think it's absolutely fantastic. I stumbled across it one night around three months before S2, when they were re-running S1, and luckily I had nowhere to be the next day; I stayed up all night and watched eight of the ten episodes consecutively, then finished S1 the next day. Can't wait for S3. Tatiana Maslany is simply amazing.

What's the $20 trick?
8-10 years ago I advised sliding a 20 to the clerk and asking if there might be a better room available. I now use a 50. 90% of the time I get a nice upgrade.
What happens the other 10% of the time?
You run out of likes for the day.

I have a friend who saw both and feels the same. He's planning on watching S3, though. Personally I am hoping Beth (or Sarah as Beth) comes back.

Probably mentioned this before but I've partied with those guys before. Went to a show in Phoenix, hung out with then afterwards guy on the first list in Tuscon the next night and did some pre show partying backstage and afterwards. Then, just because, we went with then to Albuquerque. Probably not as much fun as if it had been Crue but still good times

Not getting a job so you can keep getting government assistance can be tricky. Right Uni?
