I wonder where she got the idea that going to school was optional?

Too bad she used up all of her "freebies" because that Friday is typically a jerkoff day any way.
I know, right?

Her mom missed a ton of school in high school because she had migraines. But she also got phenomenal grades because she was really self-motivated and competitive. She is also really smart, though nuts.

My daughter isn't dumb, but doesn't seem to care about school or grades much.

ugh. you've got other kids, right? sounds like time to wipe your hands of this one.

I'm hoping for dumb, but smart enough to pull off good grades kids. seems a better option than smart, but doesn't give a ####.

I've got a few students that miss a ton of school due to health issues (real or exaggerated).  Most of them do a great job of making up the work.

BUT, and not to sound pompous, they are missing out on a lot by simply not being in class.

You're talking about all the Cheap Trick on Spotify, aren't you?

:lmao:

I have at least 3 Cheap Trick songs on my "school" playlist.  The other day "Come on, Come on" came on.  I have one kid that knows a whole lot about " old" music.  He and his dad collect vinyl I guess.  Anyway kid comes up and says "I know that's Cheap Trick but what's the name?"

Feeling misanthropic.

Even more than normal.
You know how for like the last year or so I've been talking about going to law school so I can become a ACLU lawyer to be in a position to help people getting ####ed over and all that? Well I'm standing in line at the post office yesterday you know, and I'm looking around and everybody's looking really pathetic you know what I mean. Like people have just got drool sticking there, and like this guy's bending over and you can see the crack of his... It was all just like wife beaters, it was.. Anyway. I realise that I just don't want to do it. You know what I mean it sounds good and all but I just have to confront the fact that I really don't like the people I've been talking about helping out. You know what I'm saying. I don't like people period. I mean you guys are okay. I don't know. I'm just trying to be honest about being a misanthrope.

Got the house to myself for 2 days while the wife & kids go to our niece's dance recital and then to visit the grandparents. Of course, the reason I'm not going along is that my sinuses have me feeling like 3/5 of ####-all, so I'll spend most of the time blowing my nose and coughing on the dogs.

Slap it (with latex gloves)?

Coop's Dr. ran several tests and doesn't think there is anything systemic going on; normal weight gain, clear neurological tests, no inflammation internal...

However, he's been suffering from migraines, as often as 4 times a week.  His mom has crushing, debilitating migraines so this isn't a surprise.  Asked him why he never complained, he said we had too much on our plate and with his diabetes felt like he was already too much of a burden.  Ooooof.

Anyhow, starting a trial run of meds and a journal to see if this helps.  Thanks for all the tpws.
No joke holmes, tears in my eyes.  There is a reason we should all be more child-like.  Love that son of yours, GM.  He's a gem.

Racist

I was at the gym and I saw a beautiful woman so I tried to talk to her, but her boyfriend was there and he got pissed.  He saw me as a threat… I’m a scientist.  I’ve been a threat to humanity, the environment, and even Jupiter once, but never to a hot girl’s boyfriend.

What kind of scientist?

On a similar journey with headaches for my oldest. In the last year he's seen pediatric neurologist that specializes in headaches (where we are now), an ENT/Allergist, an eye specialist and a regular ped neurologist. He is a on med right now that hasn't done anything for him yet but the hope is once we hit the right dosage it helps. Good luck to Cooper, it can be a long journey to find the right meds and the righ dosage.

I think she graduated in 1979 or 1980.  They lived on Locust Ave down from the 7/11.
My brother was 1980.

ETA... One of my still best friends moved to Locust Ave late 70s. Had a bunch of other friends near there. We were in sausalito. Did your wife do theater or track? She'd know my brother if so... Who has lived in tam valley for 25 years now

What kind of dumb-a** radio station plays "Manic Monday" on a saturday??

That's like playing Rebecca Black's "Friday" on a Tuesday...or actually any day of the week.
