Had to get a tire repaired again.  Walking to the bar as we speak.   Should have told MIL it'll be 2 hours since she's watching the kids for me

Talking about music and mobility - wearing headphones and listening to music does not make your farts silent.

Be glad it is repairable. A couple months ago, I got the surprise of having to replace a full set of tires on our SUV. Then, the next day, my wife's car had low pressure in one of the tires and I went to get them checked...and all four needed to be replaced as well. Fun way to spend about $1,700.

On the plus side, I got to spend a lot of time at Discount Tire.

said it before, but I know you can appreciate my tip-top item of appreciation about living in NYC... you can fart on the sidewalk with impunity.

might be my only item of appreciation for living in nyc.

In some parts of the city, a fart would actually smell better than the air.

Talking about a fun way to spend $1700, my parents have an apartment in NYC and there was a gas leak in the building.  The fire department had to check each apartment to make sure where the leak was coming from.  The super has the keys to my parent's place and went with them as they checked the apartments.  Most people were home, but my parents weren't.   Instead of using the key to open the door, the POS firefighter broke the door down.  It cost my parents $1700 for a new door.  The fire department gets a lot of hero worship, but in reality these guys are just like the police - most are bullies and prefer to break #### instead of actually helping the people they are supposed to help.  Of course there was no gas leak and nothing wrong with the apartment until those #######s got there.

I'm loathe to talk badly about NYFD- I have a handful of friends in it and having gone through a legitimate fire at our building (along with everything else they do) I respect the hell out of them.

but yeah- they seem to relish smashing things, even when there's not emergency. friends in the hood say it's a universally understood thing that NYFD will go through cars, apartments whatever and #### the #### out of them... much more so than with us non-hoody people.

WE'RE TALKING ABOUT SPOTIFY AND PANDORA IN HERE GUY.
We should enjoy both (or either) of them while they last in their current incarnations.

Both have been accused of under-paying royalties to artists. And neither is close to profitable. Pandora (which is already public) and has agreed to higher royalty payments to artists hasn't generated positive cash flow for a single quarter in a year and a half. The timing of that is suspiciously similar to the timing of when they changed the royalty methodology. The stock has cratered.

Spotify was last valued at $8.5 billion in a private financing round, despite having a business model that may never deliver profitability. They have pushed back their IPO timeline in order to try and sort this stuff out.

I see changes coming...

change is bad.

I really love spotify as-is. I'd make sweet sweet love to it for at least 90 seconds if it was in the room right now, drunk and desperate.

It's gonna be Apple, Google and Amazon providing the same service.

I don't want to take away from the times they really do put their lives on the line for a legit fire because that is very admirable.  However, most things they respond to aren't a fire and they cause a ton of property damage wherever they go, most of the time totally unnecessarily.  I have known some firefighters and most are full of themselves and truly love to break things.  They joked about it and bragged about it when off duty.  I can say I have only met 1 who wasn't like that, at least around me he wasn't.  This just happened a few weeks ago so maybe it's just that we are all still pretty angry about it.

Also, $1700 for a new door seems excessive, but I have never had to buy one before so maybe I am wrong about that.

remember when, if you wanted to hear music you just played a record, or tape or cd?

now i need multiple music services, an assistant, 3 hand held devices and a reliable internet connection to get versions of said songs that intro with some DJ shouting his name and website over the top of the beat for 30 seconds
You can just buy it and play it.

I stream all of my music from a hard drive on my network at home through Kodi on my phone.  I also listen to SiriusXM.

having had the police at apartments and such in the past.. they for sure took it easy and didn't #### up the house much.

the mother of a friend of mine had two less than favorable incidents, however. they'd be "hood people", i guess.

she got pulled over on the interstate with her then husband (RIP) who had such a bad back that just leaving the house was a chore. she = old, short, fat, harmless grandmother.  cops ripped OUT her seats and set them on the side of the highway "looking for drugs". left them stuck there on the side of the highway, car all ####ed up.

another time they bashed in to her house and just destroyed the place. smashed table, ripped up and turned over couches, broke the tv, dumped dressers, etc. i don't recall the reason behind that one but this is not a criminal we're talking about. she'd just as soon bake them a pie while they searched her place.

what was the streaming service before Spotify? the one that was popular last year or so.. or the one before that which had a solid 3 month run? or the dozen before that which lasted about 6 months?

how long before Spotify is replaced by something else.. that is replaced by something else.. etc.

it's worse than chasing the newest phone technology

you like this kind of stuff, right (artists related to Poor Righteous Teachers)? you don't even need to download the app... just use the ####tier web version and play all of this stuff at your leisure. or not.

The $10 a month I play for Spotify premium is the best $10 a month I spend per month.  Great value at $10 a month.
considering how much I listen to it (my wife and kids too) and the crap I waste money on, I should be unlocking the vault... or penny-jar... to get this. but I'm penny-fat and dollar saggy. or something.

1. I added a playlist to my favorites.  It has a finite number of songs, and I don't see a shuffle option . Does it go in the same order each time?

2. I'm following you.  What does that mean?
1. What version are you using? Mobile? Web Player?

2.  I don't remember saying you could follow me since we've never met in person.
