I was underwhelmed with LambertsAny Austin GMTNers? Can't recall, but in Austin for the week on business. Trying to decide between Lambert's or Cooper's for dinner tonight.
Only on pizza, except by RL, who will fruit his pizza without hesitation. Is grilled pineapple frowned upon in here?![]()

Iron Works is pretty pedestrian. For Texas. Was thinking about them but also maybe Iron Works? Are you in Austin Cos? I know we have a bunch of Texas GMTANers but not recollecting who's close. Here through Thu.
Either way just remember to keep it weird.Any Austin GMTNers? Can't recall, but in Austin for the week on business. Trying to decide between Lambert's or Cooper's for dinner tonight.

Jesus. Where you live must be awful if you're really enjoying being in Irvine.I've been staying with my brother in Irvine for the last few days. Digging being back in SoCal.
I'm always down for an evening cornhole if I get a little lead time.Cosjobs

Nope. We will often buy a nice big pineapple, cut it in long rectangular chunks and grill it with a blackened seasoning I toss on there. If that's wrong, I don't want to be right. Is grilled pineapple frowned upon in here?![]()
right. because then it would be gross.Just to be clear, I only like pineapple or peach slices on pizza.
I'm not putting watermelon, grapes, or papaya on pizza, for instance.
Awwww, good kitties.cosjobs said:
You could buy me a house in Vegas.Peach pizza? I gotta try this.
Also, I'm alone. Nest is empty. The kid flew off to college. Sticking a for sale sign in my dirt this weekend. House shopping in Vegas next week. Any better ideas?
smash them up and use peanut butter for the sauce?Awwww, good kitties.
Also, grapes are great on pizza, you barbarians.
congrats on the kid and the nest... I think?Peach pizza? I gotta try this.

Lots of better places. Take a two month road trip and find where your heart is. Places I would consider: Portland, Seattle, Victoria (Canada), Lake Tahoe, Ashville. Burlington VTPeach pizza? I gotta try this.

I am. I only stayed here to raise the kid. I love the desert but this town I'm in sucks and the market is pretty strong.congrats on the kid and the nest... I think?
you seriously selling the house?
where are you?I am. I only stayed here to raise the kid. I love the desert but this town I'm in sucks and the market is pretty strong.
Wrap all that in a lettuce leaf and top with some tzatziki sauce. It will knock your socks off.Another popular dish for us is cubing the pineapple and throwing it in the grill basket with all colors of peppers and onions with a little cajun seasoning and serving with salmon and baked rice. Makes for a wonderful medley when mixed all together.![]()
I totally get this, and it sucks and I wish you didn't have to feel that way. I'm having those same conversations with myself about moving West, but without the kids. "I need a certain level of income to get by, but anymore is seems the only markets supporting it rip right back most of it just to live there." It can get disheartening.where are you?
retired?
don't know why my favorite neighborhood restaurant being forced to close over massive rent-spike, in spite of it's success has me down... but feels like an ominous glimpse at our own future just existing in this city (NYC) on my current income. and I use the word "existing" very, very loosely. but two young kids and a pretty specific sector in my field has me down and nervous about options.
This sort thing is good with chicken as the protein and some Caribbean spices too. I dunno, but thanks. I'm focused on the sportsbook and hookers ratio. I thought about doing the look around thing, but the budget buys a really nice place Vegas. My brother is going to live there. I'm going to be part time Vegas part time LA. I love a good rainstorm, but I hate living in a constant one. Your suggestions suck for me. If I can't golf in January I'm miserable. I have a retired sis in a beautiful home in Incline Village and couldn't tolerate a winter in Tahoe. I am considering Mexico, north of PV and north of Cabo... but not likely.Lots of better places. I'm in a smallish desert town a couple hours from LA and too close to Bakersfield. I'm basically retired, but open to ideas there too.where are you?

Maybe it makes up for the lack of clarity in your writingSo, I got an email last night from our CEO, which was sent to all 800+ employees, informing us that one of our founders had passed away yesterday afternoon at the age of 90. She was so instrumental that the building next to mine was named after her. Our Facebook page posted the news, and many members of the community shared a few stories, RIP's, that sort of thing. I work for a pretty large nonprofit that's well know in the area.
I woke up this morning to check the FB post and couldn't find it. When I got in this morning, I learned that her condition had, in fact, been upgraded to alive. She wasn't actually dead yet.
I'm lucky to work for an organization where I can immediately say things like the above, "she's only mostly dead" and "Uh, she says she's not dead....Yes she is! Here's your nine pence" and they not only don't fire me, they appreciate it.
