GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (8 Viewers)

I would book 3 nights because the type of people who need help making a hotel reservation are the type who i trust least to get it right and the cancellation policy is usually 24 hours so you can fix it at check in.
That's fair. In this particular case though, the reservations are for lodging in a national park. If you don't call in when the open their offices on the day that they start accepting reservations for the next year, it can be tough to get what you want. And since my job didn't give me the ability to sit on hold for an hour yesterday, I needed Mrs. GD to do it.

I don't blame her at all for not realizing what I wanted, but the guy taking the reservation should have understood. Every reservation website I've ever seen has you input arrival date and departure date. Why that would change when talking in person is a mystery to me.

Oh well, as you pointed out, I can easily call and cancel the last day. Adding another day could have been much more difficult.

Dylan has a walk/run fundraiser at school today.  The first part was to get sponsors per lap or a flat amount on Monday.  I told him he needed to walk around the neighborhood and fill up his card.  Astonishingly he had it sold out in about half an hour.  The kid can sell, it's crazy.   That's when he told me he would be getting a minibike for all the donations he received if he did the max 36 laps.....in which he has about an hour to do so.  Nine miles in an hour has to be some sort of record right?  No way was I letting Capt. Danger have a minibike but If he can do that, he can keep it.

9 miles is ~15k, and I found the world record is just over 41 minutes.  So he only needs to go about 2/3 of WR pace and he's got that minibike

When my kids did this they called it a fun run and they set up a tiny track so with minimal effort every kid was able to do the max amounts of laps.

Enjoy the minibike!

Bill burr on good morning Texas (YouTube, sound)

I don't think she was ready for this segment.  I'm certain he wasn't.
I’ll have to listen later.  Still love his Sherries Berries commercial

Updates from the 4 household:

1.  Mr. krista was suddenly and unexpected promoted to Executive Chef at his restaurant at the beginning of last week.  It was particularly shocking because he had stopped chef-ing for them a while back.  He's been working 14-15 hour days but has already been getting heaps of praise for everything so far from customers and staff, in particular for helping to turn around morale there.  If any PNWers (or @cosjobs) want to go there sometime, let me know.  It's on the Olympic peninsula and right on the water, so will be especially beautiful as we go into spring and summer.

2.  We're heading to Vancouver tomorrow to see Anthony Jeselnik and also to eat all the food.  I'm excited.

3.  Mr. krista saw two baby coyotes chasing a fat otter across the road coming home the other night.
Not sure why but I’m cracking up over the fat otter

Yeah...the NYRR does this at my son's school during their PE period.  Usually they just track them over the course of the year and give out goodies at the end.  Fine.

Well apparently, two weeks ago these hucksters were offering T-shirts if you ran 40 laps (20 laps is a mile) around the gym.  He did it in 20 minutes.  Needless to say, Monday February 19, 2018 was a long night though he did look stylish in his new shirt.

Did I mention he's 6. :wall:

He did, but I was certain it was in Gig Harbor, which is on the Kitsap peninsula.  We have a lot of peninsulas here.
Little known fact - the word "peninsula" and the word "penis" have the same root because everyone who lives on a peninsula likes penis.

Gig Harbor is on the Key Peninsula.

It borders on the Adriatic, and its main export is chrome.

If I gave you instructions on booking a hotel reservation and included this:

"Dates: July 18th-20th 2019"

how many nights would you book the room for?

Oh for ####s sake.   The run wasn't today, the money and pledges were due.

Also I've never felt worse about laughing at a comedian than during a Jeselnik set.
It occurs to me all that seeing a guy who has at least three (3) rape jokes in his repertoire might be ill-advised on International Women’s Day.

Yet here I am.

This is basically the premise for Clayton Bigsby skit that Chappelle did. There only thing worse would be a woman delivering a monologue about how women need to get back in the kitchen and stop voting

Is it worth a listen?  I'M A VERY BUSY GUY HERE!
I gave it a few minutes; nothing I don't already know although I enjoyed the light hearted banter and humor they employ while discussing the importance of the metal.  I'll go back and listen to the rest later.*  It is a critically important metal for sure.

*I'll never listen to it.

Oh man, a cute little old Mexican lady just walked in our doors asking if we wanted to buy some tamales.  Hell yes we do.  Makes them herself.  Just bought a dozen, half pork with a green sauce half chicken red sauce.  Just had two.  My god.....so good.

Got her card.

My wife and her sister went to to the beach. Left me and my bil in charge of 8 kids . So today I made my 4 clean the house and weed the yard. Now we're over at bils and he made NY style hand tossed pizza, it's better than anything you could buy locally. I cooked two tbones that are resting. Today was a good day.
