I remember the first time we went up to Lambeau for a game, we were at one of the bars the night before and started talking to the waitress.  We asked her where we should head the next morning for pre-game festivities and what time to get down to the stadium.

"Just go down there.  Whatever time.  Wherever.  Doesn't matter."

"Yeah, but what time do bars open?  What time do people get down there and get started?  What..."

"Just go.  You'll see."

Pretty sure most of those people had been down there since the previous week's game.

in the middle 90s i bartended before, during and after Packers games across the street from Lambeau

we had to be in for 6 AM. which meant actually getting there a bit earlier to setup.

by the time i got to work, cars were already lined up on Oneida Street. parked. with grills going and beers being consumed. waiting for the parking lot gates to open at (i think then it was 7 or 8 AM).  no telling when some of those people showed up but by 5:45 - 6 AM they were well on their way to blackout state.

Is it unreasonable to reject a meeting notice that came through for 6:30 a.m.?  I work with mostly people in the Eastern time zone, and I make some accommodations but that seems over the line unless it were terribly urgent (protip:  most meetings are not)  But after I rejected it I felt kind of bad about it.

Perfectly reasonable. If you really need to make the point, send them a meeting request for 9:30 PM EST on Friday.

I’d have replied Tentative

What should I do with my Trump tax decrease and my company tax credit bonus total 5ooo.oo, no hookers or drugs.
I got an e-mail from my gas company yesterday:

We’re passing the benefits of federal tax reform to you

As a result of federal tax reform, you’ll benefit from a reduction in your monthly statement beginning with your May 2018 billing period.

If you have electric service [I don't], you’ll receive a reduction of approximately $30 per year. If you have natural gas service, you’ll receive a reduction of approximately $10 per year.
So. Much. Winning.

I endure these all the time.  Nobody outside a home office ever thinks about the people who reside elsewhere.

Blows out..

Had a huge health scare here over the last few months.  Spoiler: It turned out the best way possible.

Oldest kid had a lump in his thigh.  Upper thigh, outside side.  Probably the size of a marble a year ago.

Regular doctor said cyst.

Then it got bigger.  Like racquetball size but squished.  Had a needle biopsy that said “lipoma” no big deal.

But regular doc sent him to another Doc for 2nd opinion.  Had MRI. This guy sent him to a local specialist.

Local specialist checked it out and set us up with one of the best docs in the country that deal with tumors in the muscles/bones (not going to look up the technical term) at USC.

Soooo...went to USC to have Stud Doc take a look at MRI.  He didn’t like the looks of it despite needle biopsy result.  Could be lipo sarcoma.  Not life threatening for a 25 year old without any other negative signs.  But would require a “cancer surgery” with margins and all that ####.  Possibly even radiation..maybe chemo.

We (son) elected to have an incision biopsy.  Did that 9 days ago.

Got results and met with USC doc yesterday.  Benign.  Thanks the gods..the old and the new. Turns out it was just a big ### lipoma after all.

Son will still have it removed in about 2 weeks.  Surgery is pretty much outpatient but still not fun.

Not to get to philosophical before the cocktail hour (or during, or after) but my son is one of the nicest people I know.  No idea how that happened.  SOB thanked us after every trip down to USC and for ever meal there and back. Always kept his usual good humor (“If I have to have chemo none of you buttholes better not shave your heads”).

Oh and if any of you see it pop up on Facebook, follow or like the goofy vid/pod cast thing he helps produce (rhymes with pan noodle).  He works his butt off off the clock to keep it going.

We do business internationally and across all the US time zones. Work starts 6 to 6:30 everyday.  That's the downside of working on the West coast

I'm working with a fancy interior designer based out of SF. I call her cell phone every day when I wake up..

Really, really happy to hear about your son's outcome. I've got a lump in my thigh, too. I asked my doc about it and he promised it was a non-cancerous cyst.

On the other hand, I took my dad to see the Urologist to go over the MRI of the tumor on his kidney.

He said its so small, don't worry about it. By the time it gets big enough to kill you, you'all already be dead of something else (paraphrasing).

Kind of a passive aggressive bedside manner imo.

I'm glad he's not facing the kidney removal and all the other hideous kidney cancer agenda, but discouraged by the fact he's to far gone to worry about it.

I think I may try to get him hospice anyway. He's in a lot of pain from his spinal stenosis and pulmonary fibrosis and there's really no other way to get proper pain medication. He's 92. I will be stunned if I come within five years of that.
