GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (15 Viewers)

I'm going to San Francisco for a conference in the morning. Meeting a burlesque dancer friend of mine for drinks one night, going to see the Giants play from a suite another night and going drinking and to "a show" with a bunch of gay guys the last night. At some point I have to give a speech. I may not be the same when I make it back to Austin.

The wife seems a little, uh, Angry about this trip since she's stuck here with the kids the whole time.

What bentley fails to realize is half the guys in here have pissed-off wives too, but none of them are headed off to party in the Gay Burlesque Suite at Pacific Bell Park.

Trying to determine if this headache is a result of the illness I've been battling for a week or the cheap bottle of wine I drank last night. I'm betting illness.

Next time I'm awoken by a gushing nosebleed there better goddddamn well be cocaine involved. Neat. Sure it has something to do with all the asbestos I snorted yesterday removing carpet.

Gf's bestfriend is moving down to Texas and will be staying with us for a couple weeks before going down there. Should be interesting since we have no space.

Unless your carpet was 20+ years old, it's very doubtful that it contained any asbestos. Unless it was some black market type stuff. Plus, the effects of asbestos are more long term type stuff rather than immediate effects. More likely your MIL is poisoning you.

Is it bad form ask a 3.5 year old if they are ####### ######ed or just plain stupid? Asking for a friend.

Why aren't everyone's kids as well behaved as mine?

Yeah, it's not the carpet I'm worried about; it's the flooring from 1962 they nailed all the carpet tacks to. Our inspector said there was a chance removing that layer of flooring would unearth asbestos, so I should have it tested. Well, I didn't do that since it involved mailing a sample. So each nail I remove tends to pull up small chunks of this 1962 flooring (linoleum? crapoleum?) along with all sorts of yellowish powder that looks like something you'd find on Homer's desk.

I've been using Neti Pot at the day's end. Should keep out all carcinogens.

Oh. Well, in that case, your inspector is right and it very likely contains asbestos. Probably both the flooring and the mastic under the flooring. The good news is that the flooring is what is referred to as "nonfriable" which means that the odds of the fibers getting into your lungs and causing problems is very minute. If the yellow powder is the mastic, you may actually be fine. Black mastic is much more likely to contain asbestos.

Of course, all that begs the question, why in the world would you leave potential asbestos in your house?

Proud Dad Moment Alert: (for SLB at the very least)

I had free HBO recently. One of the movies I recorded was "Back To School". Knew Cooper would like it, and he did. When Rodney confronts his son for lying about dive team, Rodney says " don't lie to me; lie to girls!"

Coop said: "Dad! That's what you always say!"

Proud dad moment.

I was told to floor over it.

GM will like this on more than one level.

Female bartender that works for my wife is getting fired. From what my wife tells me this girl is pretty much a raving witch 70% of the time. We'll call her Sue.

About 2 weeks ago a group of women sat in the bar and Sue gave them crappy service and was snotty with them. One of the women sent in a guest complaint. Same group of women came in the other night. Again Sue pissed them off. This time they left 7 or 8 pennies on the table as a tip.

Sue scooped the pennies, hustled outside quick enough to see the women pulling out of their parking spot, and threw the pennies at their car. She actually hit the car :lmao:

Not bad aim for a girl.

Oh, our new roommate is going to be staying in my den/studio/quietplace. It's been filled with old kids toys/swings etc for the last 2 years and I'm gonna have to put all that crap in storage. Oh she's got a dog too. So that's kind of cool.

Cuz is she's all super hot, i could see a group of women being a bit female doggy towards her.
I don't think she's hot. From what I get is that she's a manipulative liar and a "victim". She probably should have been gone much earlier but she had befriended another manager (not the guy who was recently fired) who gave her too much slack.
