I'm pretty terrible to watch TV and movies with. My hearing is waning so of we don't subtitle, I'm pausing and going back.  And, yeah, non verbal clues and complex plots require a little help at times from another unfortunate viewer.  

In other news, it's raining in Portland, the sun rises in the east and the Cleveland Browns still suck.

everytime, every single time i watch a movie with my wife, she asks dumb questions;    why is that truck white?   how come she's wearing lipstick?   Is that a falcon or an owl?   Why did he say that?

my standard answer is  "because its a movie, honey"

Like Bob said...it really is like feeding dogs.  Once boys hit like 11-12 they'll pretty much eat anything you put in front of them with the same gusto regardless of the quality.

No sense in wasting good food on walking-talking garbage disposals.

I had plans to meet with our VP of strategic planning, the Travis County Fire Marshal and the Texas Liquor Store Association tomorrow. Also have a website vendor flying in from New York tomorrow for a strategy session on dynamic website content management. And lunch with Abe. Guess which one of these people decided they were too big of a deal to meet?

Apparently the fire marshal is a licensed peace officer because he came to the meeting strapped. Caused a bit of excitement with the security desk.

My students were doing a worksheet on the Bill of Rights today.  One of the kids said "I can't find the answer to this question: 'how many amendments are there in the Bill of Rights'."

I told him "Ummm...it's in that first section on p. 179.  See it?"

Kid:  "yeah, the one that says 'The 10 Amendments'?"

Me:  "Yep"

Kid:  "So the answer is in that section?"

Well now I don't feel so bad about leaving this future we've created to my kid. Odds are, they were just going to #### it up anyway.

Why in the name of all that is holy does American Eagle (American Airlines affiliate) INSIST on taking cash only for booze on the flight?  The attendants think its stupid and hate having to keep up with the money.  THe passengers hate it.  I'm at about 90k miles this year on an American Airlines jet and I can't even getting a ####### Tito's.
