Had a late lunch at one of my favorite spots in Portland today, which is conveniently located next to the flooring and counter top store. I had two small beers with my French Dip and when I got the bill, noticed the gal only charged me for one beer. Not sure what came over me, but I pointed this out to her. She thanked me for my honesty and re-ran the check. Hoping this turn in good karma comes back to visit in a nice way soon.
Isn't the shark move here to just over-tip and assume she did it on porpoise? Win-Win
I don't know what's wrong with me.
I do....TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111

They are why I had two beers with lunch. :bag:

I bought a house two doors down that sat on the market for 6 months. Starting to understand WHY it sat around so long.
Just found out my house I bought in Oct has moisture inside the vaulted ceilings and black mold. Gotta tear out drywall, insulation and roof off about 35% of the house. No way in hell former owners didn't know this. There was water leaking out of the recessed lights when the temps rose a couple weeks ago. Gotta let my tenants out of the lease 2 months early. Insurance will cover a bit of it but I'm probably out of pocket 10k.
Your inspector didn't find this?I had the same problem in my house, my inspector found it and we made them pay for fixing it.
Vaulted ceilings. So no attic to look into. Just roof, joists then drywall ceiling. Improper ventilation coupled with older model recessed lights that weren't airtight. Basically warm air got into the roof cavity through the can lights, condensed against the cold roof decking. Warm weather melts the condensation, then it's water flowing inside the roof rafter bays. The parts of the house with accessible attics were clean and dry. No inspector is going to tear out drywall to look between the framing.
Yea, that sucks.

Anyone know how long a triple bypass surgery should take? My FIL is having one now and my wife is freaking out because it's been longer than what we thought
Mom had two - 9 and 13 hours IIRC.Also, they're pretty bloated when they come up. Pretty sure they mention that 20 or so times beforehand but might want to remind he'll look very unnatural when they're first coming out of anesthesia.

I'll be at matador in west seattle thursday.
omg I ate at El Matador in Utah today!
:hifive: (although that was really meant for Drifter)
I'll actually be in Minnesota convincing disgruntled Target people to come work for us. Fly in, recruiting event at a brewery, fly out. It's like being a rock star only sitting in a middle seat in coach.
I'm not disgruntled, but I am in MN!
I know. I thought about a cornhole but likely cannot do it. I land 40 minutes before the event starts and will be working until 9 or later and fly out first thing in the morning. I thought about staying an extra day and trying to coordinate a Friday night cornhole but my stupid sister is flying into town with my stupid nephew on Friday.

At least we'll see you at the Derby.

it really depends but my father's took about six hours if I remember correctly because they had to do a valve replacement as well. The main thing is that they don't want to have to go back in again later, so while they'd obviously rather not keep him under anesthesia longer than they have to, they'll err on the side of doing a good and complete job. If he's been under a long time, he's going to need a whIle to get himself back to normal. Expect him to look really weak and pale and be out of it and extremely thirsty while they ration how many ice chips he can have.

Best of luck. Scary day.

Working that too. Have to be at a conference in Princeton that Monday morning so provided I can get my flight changed it might work out well.

This will probably be a dumb question but I'll ask in here first. Did anyone ever pick "a random babysitter"? Did you use a service to find one?

My son is away at school

My MIL passed away in December and my parents now spend their winters down in Florida.

We don't trust my SIL

My sister is usually one of the ones we do stuff with but she's good for a day or so.

We don't really know anyone on our block that doesn't use a family member of their own.

My daughter is 9 so it's an easy gig but I'm not just going to let anyone watch her in my house.

Woman in my neighborhood is a B'way makeup artist who spent a couple years traveling with an infant/toddler. She went on a national tour of Wicked - she made the witch green - and basically had to hire a new sitter/nanny in a completely unfamiliar city every 1-2 weeks. She said she got really good at reading people.

Yay! Another $1,000 to pay a lawyer to navigate the stupid family law courts to modify my parenting plan and child support order to reflect what my ex and I agreed on nearly a year ago.

F'n lawyers.
Nasty little leaches feeding off the blood of their betters. Next time throw some salt on it. They hate that. They release their grip and roll up into a ball.

How gruntled would one have to be to enjoy working at Target?
Target corporate laid off a bunch of people in Minneapolis.
