GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (16 Viewers)

I've lamented it plenty but the fact that I'm a ####ing Classics major and I have lost the last ~187 of 200 to the worst speller on the Internet has me feeling at my not-best.
Hey dingleberry, Scrabble won't LET me mispell words. Believe me, I try...

You're killing me now and overall, probably dominate the series.
This is why I hate scrabble on the smartphone. It's not scrabble if you can't play a phony.
I grew up playing with my parents. They are old school. Dictionary sits at the table unopened unless there is a challenge. No asking how to spell words, no looking things up, no help of any kind. You spell wrong or play something that doesn't exist (my mom is the queen of this), somebody (usually my dad) will challenge. Successful challenge, turn is lost. Unsuccessful challenge and the challenger loses his/her next turn.
That's how it is supposed to be played. Any other way doesn't count.
preach!

Tre and Frost - I drafted a kid named Damien Wilson for my nerdy dynasty IDP team. I note he hails from Gopher U. He any good?

He played MLB for the gophs -- was a tackling machine. He's a bit undersized and not super fast but has really good quickness/burst and is a very good tackler. Made a lot of great plays for our gophers.

Are the Cowboys going 3-4 or 4-3? I think he'd fit better as a middle in a 3-4, he may be too undersized to be a MLB in a 4-3; in which case they'd probably try him at OLB.

Digital game is fun, but way too easy. I'm sure YRS would destroy me in person.

I'm talking about Scrabble here. :oldunsure:
I would love the chance to destroy you in person.

And I'm not.

Rude probably knows their scheme, but Dallas has been pretty thin at LB and could use some help there. Sean Lee seems vulnerable to injury and I think he could work his way into rotation, but yeah, he's not the biggest or fastest guy out there. Still, happy to have a Gopher join the Oregon Reign.

I hadn't paid much attention to him, but Carter is gone, Lee is always hurt, and who knows what to expect from McClain. Hitchens was a nice find for them in the 4th round a year ago. Cowboys are talking him up as a backup MLB/WLB so there's some fantasy upside for sure.

I hear TLC has a show available....

for anyone with direct tv. this is a must. it was impossibly easy. total time on the phone, less than 30 minutes. they called me back in less than 24 hours. the standard monthly discount is $43

Read the script below.

Call 1-800-531-5000

Get to retentions department

Confirm you are in retentions department

Don't bother with their offers and simply request a cancellation 2 weeks out

Confirm cancellation date

Wait to receive "We want you back", "Let us make it right", "blah blah" call or email with special 877-250-4624 number and NEWDEAL1 or NEWDEAL2 code

If you receive that email, great. Go ahead and call in as soon as you receive it.

If you DO NOT receive the email in a few days, call the 877-250-4624 number anyway and tell them you received the email

You may get turned down for "not being in their system" yet

If that is the case, ask if they can get you added to the system

No matter what they say, call back in 48 hours or so and try again

You may still have to haggle with them a bit to get everything listed in this thread ($200 GC, 12 month discounts on package, free 2015 Sunday Ticket Max, 3 months of premium movie channels, all requiring a 12 month commitment (24 months if you elect to receive new equipment)), but they also may just lay it all out there for you from the start

If all else fails, you can always call the 1-800-531-5000 number back before the date you set and have the cancellation removed and try the whole process again later
My contract is up in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to make this call.
Special ends today, supposedly. My contract is up in July. Lots of people claiming to get it despite longer contracts than ours remaining. They don't charge you the cancellation fee until after the cancel date, if you let it lapse. I'm trying to sneak it in under the wire. We'll see if it works. I'll try calling them later this afternoon.

The woman I talked to initially claimed to be named Destiney. I took it as a sign to attempt to advance our relationship quickly. She was unwilling to immediately give me what I wanted, however.

Never much of a scrabble fan. More of a Trivial Pursuit guy.
Yeah, that's my favorite.

Speaking of, I showed up late to bar trivia last night at Coaches and helped Cougit bring home first place again. $30 in bar cash won. Man, I could do this for a living. I love bar trivia more than my 3 kids.

Gotta go. Baseball game AGAIN tonight. I feel like Tanner right now with my enthusiasm for this. Going to get a nice dinner first though.
After dinner the security guard for the building in which the restaurant was located gave me a pair of sweet $140 each field box tickets. What a nice guy, really made my day. The reason we were going at all is because it was Scout night. Scout tickets were the third to last row in the upper, upper, deck.

Dude, when I grow up, I want to be you.

Word in that thread is that the offers they are making ends today.
I canceled 2 hours ago, scheduled to have it shut off 6/10. Am on the phone with them right now and just waiting for a manager to OK what is effectively everything laid out above. Been on the phone 21.5 minutes.
Guess I'll try this now. Thanks for the heads up GBRaiders!

Box seats: Better to heckle players from.

Upper, upper Deck: Paper planes fly farther.

Word int he DTV thread is that possibly only the GC expired yesterday. Should still be good on the rest. And with your charms, they'll probably poop you a $500 GC just for being you.

Nobody hands me field box tickets and I don't have hot women dangling all over me in every picture I post. No swinger invites, no hot employees giving me googoo eyes.
