I love cat gifs... but they're making me miss Chip the cat.

putting an animal down- I know it's for the best and all, but I still can't shake the feeling that I've murdered my pet. still not used to all of the daily Chip routines not being there any more, starting with the 5am feed-me crescendo of slight meows to scratching, banging on things and roar. ok, that one I don't miss. but I'm still thinking I'm seeing him in all his usual spots, and needing to feed him, looking for him for the nightly lap time. :sadbanana:

Go get a new one. Best way to deal with losing one.

Sorry buddy. That is rough.

I don't think you murdered Chip. I mean, you aren't the one who injected him, were you? At worst you were an accomplice.

the kids think this is happening right away.

we've had animals.. pretty much forever. we're thinking about going without for a bit to open up the idea of house-swapping for vacations... at least until after Christmas. we joined a website and have been getting requests from some amazing houses in amazing places (for our dumpy, small NYC apt). not paying for boarding chip or hotel would allow us to make some trips we otherwise wouldn't be able to make. but I have a feeling the second we see or find the right one, it's done.

I've never actually had a kitten... childhood cat was picked up right after I was born and lived to be 20. all of "my" cats after that were either rescues or shelter cats- all adult, including chip. I would love a kitten- kids too. furniture, less so.

It's been about 4 months since we had to put our dog to sleep. I definitely wasn't prepared for how often my mind would trick me into "seeing" her in one of her favorite spots, hear her in a mother room or just expect to see her greet me at the door. Most of that has faded, but there are still times every now and then where I come home and expect to see her grinning face meet me at the door.

Saw on way home: dude waits for light to turn green, then walks into crosswalk, puts pipe into mouth, takes hit, stops in crosswalk, takes topper baby hit then keeps walking. Yards from the main downtown Portland police station

BAbe - when you blog up your expert analysis on back surgeries, can we get a link?

TIA
Haven't written a medical blog yet. That could be fun. Still don't know anyone who has had back surgery and improved.
how many people do you know that have had back surgery and not improved?
5 off the top of my head.
