Our power came back on at 2:40 am. My first thought was to buy a generator, too. Or to move.

That's a softball right there, friends & neighbors.Seriously, did y'all have much damage?
I don't think so but will have to survey. Because we've been in this extreme drought, the trees were more fragile so the number of branches and whole trees down is incredible. At our house, I think just branches, spoiled food, a detached screen door, and whatever this piece of metal is.

So many empty beer cans in the recycling this morning. Yuke's birthday party was pretty epic after we threw all the kids out.

omg! i was day drinking too.

Annyong, if you haven't been to Soveriegn yet, go. The place rules.
Have not, but have been wanting to.
Eaten there 4 times now and haven't had a bad meal. Beer list is always good.

If you're a Brussels sprouts guy, the fried Brussels sprouts are a must have. IMO best burger in the area

I don't remember what side of the Bloody Mary argument you're on, but if you're on the right side of it, it's the best bloody I've ever had.

And it's served in one of those sexy Mason jars

We lost power yesterday so i took the family out to dinner. We get home about 7:30 and no power still. Right as we walked in the door, power comes on. Nice timing

Is he going to pay the difference? If not, it shouldn't be his concern. If she moves in and causes trouble deal with it then. I'm saying this because it sounds like you are giving in to this guy and IMO you shouldn't.

Offer to split the rent with him for the two months. "I don't want to leave the room empty but I know it's not your preference to have her here."

Well, I spoke too soon. Part of our patio roof is gone. Luckily we found the parts that flew off and some of the greatest engineering minds in the world are on the case.

Any word on the metal object that dropped from outer space?
I have not asked the great engineering minds if this piece has anything to do with the roof disappearing. Also, I cannot find the piece but think Mr krista put it somewhere. Stay tuned.

I always question why we have a dog. I swore we'd never have one, especially while I was working a graveyard shift.

The second I joined the normal world, and started working a 9-5, I had no ground to stand on. Wife and kid talked me into it and we got a dog.

While she's a wonderful pet, she's easily the biggest inconvenience on my life.

And now she smells like skunk

:wall:

I used to make sure to read A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson every year. I bet it's been five at this point. Time to re-read.

Also, if Mr. Pickles sees this he will like it. He's batting 100% on liking any post where I've mentioned this book.

Deadwood? More like overratedwood.
:lmao:

I got through 1.6 seasons and stopped for some reason. Feel like I saw enough. Liked it...didn't love it.

Better than Madmen, though.

these guys really loved them some Deadwood
I get why people love Deadwood. There was some great acting for sure. I just couldn't stand the shtick/style when it came to the dialog.

And having Oz at #6 is laughable. That show was garbage.

I'm halfway through season 4 of Boardwalk Empire. Gonna do Deadwood next I think.

Seriously - is it a moment-in-time thing? I can't understand it. SP are objectively awful. I love Grand Funk and know they suck. Is it like that?
Wasn't really into them at the time, but have a nostalgic type appreciation of them. Definitely part of the soundtrack of my college years. If I close my eyes while listening to "1979", I feel like my body has been teleported to a house party.
