Gall bladder disease and gallstones have become increasingly common and are directly linked to a Standard American Diet full of sugar and processed foods.3

Certain factors put you at risk for developing gall bladder disease, including3:

  • Age. People over the age of 60 often have gall bladder disease.
  • Gender. Overweight women over the age of forty are the population that has gall bladder surgery most frequently.
  • Hormone replacement therapy. Estrogen stimulates the production of gallstones, so women on hormone replacement therapy or those who have taken birth control pills for many years sometimes have gall bladder disease.
  • Diet. There is a generally recognized link between a diet high in poor-quality fats and sugar and gall bladder disease. This is the diet that most Americans eat today.
  • Obesity. People who are obese have bile that is saturated with cholesterol, making them more likely to develop gallstones.
  • Slow transit time and constipation. Constipation and slow intestinal transit time are linked to the formation of gallstones.4

4 day update?

Me, I spent Thursday through yesterday afternoon in the hospital. I had my surgery Tuesday, everything seemed to go well, and I came home the same day. Thursday afternoon I got this awful abdominal pain - worst pain I've ever had - and crazy sweating. Went to the emergency room and they ran a zillion tests. They also called my surgeon and he showed up, admitting me until they could figure out what was wrong. Friday morning my temp had gone to 101 and blood work came back with a high white cell count. At this point, they're thinking infection and they scheduled surgery for Saturday morning (I heard the surgery part from a nurse and don't know what they were gonna do). They hooked me up to two IVs of antibiotics, along with whatever "regular" solution I had been on and the shots of morphine. By Friday night, my temperature was down to 99.something. Pulled more blood and the white count was down some (but still high). Saturday morning, my temp was 98.4 ( :loco: ) and I started angling to go home. I almost stayed for the morphine, but my desire to get the #### out of that place was higher. They made me eat some solid food and hang to see if I could keep it down - when it did, they turned me loose. The doc said that one of the tests showed a small bit of funky stuff in the fluid around my liver and, best he can figure, is that I got an infection there.

Anyway, now I'm back to feeling about how I did the first day after surgery. I'm now on two kinds of antibiotics. The pharmacist told me on one of them "See that note not to drink alcohol? Many times, people ignore that and have no ill effects. Not this one. Do not drink and don't even use mouthwash soon after taking it. You will get really sick." Normally, I'd just say "#### it" but I don't feel like taking a chance on going back to the hospital anytime soon. So, wagon it is for me until I eat all of the pills.
Sounds horrible. Glad you're back home.

so my kid (9) goes to a friends house tonight for some halloween shenanigans. as i drop her off, i notice that it's only moms (35-45). there's at least 6 of them. before i leave, i am called upon to light the bbq, cause they can't figure it out. turn knobs, press ignite, go.

fast forward 4 hours to me picking her up......there are 4-6 new moms. all moms are ####### hammered. there are now 3 males at the party, the home owner, and 2 dudes i already know. that leaves 8 or so wasted, horny as ####, divorced moms. never in my life have i been so popular at a party. were i single, i'd be **** deep in some jiggly ###, mom train action. one of them asked me to be her daddy. ahhh booze, what a wonderful thing.
i realized this morning that this is what is like to be bob. i would have been raped, had i been wearing a cat shirt.

jeez bud. i guess that explains your not taking your turn in scrabble. ;) get better my friend

So, what's been up?

I saw a post from Abe yesterday and it looks like he got his closing done.
I'm blessed, really, but this has been a ####### nightmare. Overpaid slow movers yesterday, went back to get the final load and the new guy at the storage place had padlocked the gate. So now I'm waiting for different movers so I can finish the move today. In the meantime, there is a trough with plants and frogs and #### that the previous owners didn't bother to move and my 1 year old niece fell into it. So moving is halted while she goes to the doctor for a clean bill of health. And my wife has been on me about how much of an ####### I'm being about all of this and how I'm ruining what should be a wonderful time by being pissed off at the fact that the previous owners still haven't moved their stuff.

It's nothing compared to surgeries and house floods and tons of other problems some of you face. But still.

Yes, moving truly is a magical, happy time for all involved.

Wow, happy to hear you're back on the road to recovery my friend.

Hang in the GB

MSP airport must be the nicest in the US. If I lived here, I'd probably buy some cheap tickets to somewhere just so I could hang out here.

I once was asked, "Coach, who are the best fantasy studs you ever drafted?" So i put together this list finally after 24 yrs at the helm.

QB Don Marido. Total stud for miami, threw lots of tds to irwin flyer.

RB LaDuvilian Timberson, Turdell Dravis.

LD was a total stud, used to run, catch and throw tds. Turdell won me like 35 games in a row and 3 championships. If he didnt get 50 it was bull####.

WR. Mandy Ross, Jeffrey Rice.

Mandy leaped like a gazelle and had freakish hands. If you pissed him off he'd run you over with his car. Jeffrey was the grrrrreatest ever, he caught 4000 tds from that Steed Young fella.

TE- Shrannonll Syrup. He's on the tv now, talked funny and always yappin them jaws but the boy caught alotta tds.

K. Tiny Vinceiaraterrari. Nice Italian kid from pakistan, sure could kick. I think he got shot in the iraq war but might still be playin

Def/St. 1992-93 Arizona Cardinals coached by Billy Ryan. Sacked about 90 times and knocked half the qbs in the league unconscious. Britt Farv retired cuz of them. Look it up!

Later

Actual conversation overheard:

Lady: We're not in Minneapolis: we're in Minnesota!

Exasperated son(?): Uh...

Lady: Wait, is that the same thing?

I'm sorry, to everybody but Frosty, that I haven't been around lately. Haven't kept up and it breaks my heart now that I have.

Billy, my brother, love you. Get well.

Cos, shoot, don't know what to say but you & the Mrs. can always stay with me.

I didn't want to come back unless I had somewhat of an amusing story.

It was unusually large crowd BBQing for the Rams game today. Nice weather, they could actually go over 500. We were in our normal spot in the parking lot right by the exit because we bribe the attendants with food and beer. It's good to be us.

Today was as full as it has been in about a decade though and crowds were pushed together. I hear this big dude, 6'4 270 (conservatively) running court. As God as my witness my first thought was "holy ####, he's a big Shuke". Except Shuke is SO much cooler and not nearly as big. Fake Shuke tells his GB's " I was so up in this girl my chin was in there!! lololol". I couldn't help myself. I say to him "did you get all of your chins in there?".

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaahhhhh broke over the crowd

I was, am, too stupid too care.

He parts the crowd and got in my face. I didn't back off, not because I'm tough, because I just don't care. When he realized I wasn't scared he retorted " well, yeah, um, you're so ugly you had to grow a beard!!. High five bro! We're all bros here!!". I reluctantly did because I figured I was pressing my luck.

It got weird after that.

I was pretty waste and bet my cousin I would walk past security with my beer. I did. Also through the gate without my ticket for good measure.

I'm an idiot. :bag:

I have like 40 trees on my property and just don't feel like cleaning up the mess this year.

Central Americans?
For landscaping? Nah. Central Americans are your go-to for kitchen help.

Can't go wrong with our friends from South of the border for landscaping.

Yeah we don't have Mexicans where I live, just Central Americans and a large population of people who dropped out of barber college.

Hmm...try telling the dropouts that they're "barbering" your trees?
