Met Ronnie Lott at Starbucks this morning. I didn't say anything to him but turned to my 9yr old boy and said "that guy played in the NFL he's a hall of famer" loud enough that Lott could hear me. He sat next to me and my kids and then when it was time for us to go as we we're walking by he said " you guys have a nice day." My son is starstruck.
Met him in Sunriver in 2013. What's up with him living in Oregon?
Same. I'm in sunriver, skiing this week. I didn't assume he lived here, don't know if he does.
Ahhh...we met him at one of the restaurants in the Village. Maybe the Bar and Grill.
Sound generic
It was either there or The Brewing Company.

On the square?

Thanks everyone.

He left the house yesterday morning, for a pre-radiation scan. The scan showed what was pretty much a worst case scenario and they canceled the radiation. There was nothing else they could do.

That house he left yesterday morning, his entire immediate family was there. Wife, 3 children, 10 grandkids. Everyone in town for the holidays. He was able to wake up, one last day, and spend the morning surrounded by what he was most proud of. His family.

When he received the news that the fight was lost, his wife and 3 kids were by his side.

When he passed, his wife was by his side

I'm not sure what else you can ask for.

RIP

Wait, I don't understand. He woke up at home and left to go have treatment and had passed away by the end of the day? Good grief. Cancer is a #### punch by Thor's hammer. Sorry LD.

We're 5 minutes into our 7 hour drive back home and we already had to stop for my daughter to go to the bathroom. Also, my car smells like a skunk took a dump in it.

Thanks everyone.

RIP. LD - at least you can be thankful for his surrounding family and not suffering for months - that is huge.

If I didn't have 17 kids and a job that is more volatile than MOP's temperament, I'd seriously consider a home in Sunriver. So relaxing out there.
Just tube down the Deschutes all day.
butt sex?
No thanks.

K. Just being polite.

Just got word that my wife's uncle is being put into Hospice tomorrow.

Marine, Vietnam Vet, took a bullet there too. Still, from what I've been told, he came out on the other side the same all around great guy that volunteered to fight for his country at 18.

The only thing he loved more than golfing and fishing was his family. I'm beyond proud that, as the husband of one of his nieces, he considered me as much a part of that as anyone.

Family vacations together, Xmas Eve dinners at their house, countless rounds of golf and hours spent fishing together, and I honestly can't think of a time when he wasn't a joy to be around.

I can't even comprehend what emotions I'm feeling. As I type this, I'm being flooded with pride and despair, warm memories and an overwhelming sense of my own mortality(which seems ridiculously selfish at this time) because cancer's going to beat one of the best men that I've ever had the privilege of knowing
Sorry to hear LD. He sounds like one hell of a great man.
My condolences LD.

PSA: always get the best lawyer you can afford, which includes making sure they know the local judges.

:dodgedabullet:
:hifive: The one I found down here is $550/hour and the son of a former judge, who wrote some of the laws, when he was busy judging and stuff. Hope it pays off. And get me your address, I'm going back to mammoth in 2 weeks.

10 inches of rain in 3 days. We didn't see the sun from Tuesday to Tuesday. I haven't seen anything like it since '93. Massive standing water in places I don't even remember seeing water then. It shouldn't be like then, though. It shouldn't linger since this was driven by the rain rather than the rivers. Maybe if the ground freezes, I guess.

Still, lots of people with lots of property underwater. Going to be a whole lot of people suffering a lot of loss. Mostly in places where they probably can't afford it.

Bob... hfs.

You guys safe from that? Did it at least put out the underground atomic fire?

No ####. Pics and video I've seen look terrifying. Moving water kicks everything's ###.

Yeah, it was crazy how hard it rained and for how long. We're fine but I know a lot of people that aren't so fortunate. :( Unfortunately underground fire is still going strong.

My cousin was telling me last night how his guys can't get to work because of the highways being flooded. Well they could but they would have to drive about 100 miles to Columbia then turn around. Dbag customer was pissed though because the job was going to be delayed a week. #### I hate some people.
