Chem X, K4, almost everybody here with more travel experience than me,

A few last minute questions before leaving for our trip Friday to Italy. I was going to bring a big bottle of whisky with me.  Is this going to be a problem with customs?  What about porn?  Think they'll have DVD players with a USB port in the room?  Should we claim we're from Toronto?
Still need some help with this part.

One of my students needed help finding an answer in the text.  I told him "look in the section that says 'Confederates on the Move'...which is also the name of my Allman Brothers     tribute band."

Nobody got it/laughed.   Kids are stupid.

Black Monday at my office. Corporate just came over and fired the president and our operations manager. They asked me to stay, but that may be just until the office that's absorbing us gets up to speed on our work.
####ers.  Sorry UH.

Trying to up my fashion game a bit. Got a good deal on a decent quality dress shirt, but it requires cufflinks. Which I do not have. What's the way to go on this, metal cufflinks or silk knot links?

Still need some help with this part.
My international travel experience has shown that hotel wireless connections are pretty spotty* so I'd reccomended bringing a laptop and a USB.  I labeled the videos "Simpsons Vol 1, 2, etc" just to be safe

*one time I had to resort to using Bing video previews since I couldn't get any actual videos to play without constant buffering

Thanks GB.    Guesa K4 has me on ignore

Trump thread makes me more stabby than the Better Call Saul thread.

Tanner>hey
Tough one.  Trump guys are likely just a few people with lots of aliases mostly trolling and not serious (though there might be 1-2 who are actually serious).  BCS is 99% of people posting trying very hard, and failing, to be funny.  Stabbiness advantage:  BCS.

One bottle whiskey no problem, porn no problem, likely no on USB ports, why would anyone want to be Canadian?

Let me know if I missed any. :)

:goodposting:

People don't even care to discuss how BCS revolves around office supplies and the importance to the overall story.

You can take nips on the plane too. Enough to fit in a 1quart zip lock bag. Apparently you cant drink them as they have to be served but Ive never seen attendants looking over peoples shoulders looking to see what you put in your coke so pour away.

Here is an older link with some updates on it: http://imatravelninja.com/2012/05/16/take-alcohol-to-drink-on-your-flight/

Have a great time. Was there a few years ago and loved it.
Wouldn't free booze be included on the flight anyway?  Even if in coach I thought you got booze on international flights.

I just found like 10 complimentary drink coupons from Delta along with my passport that expired 10 years ago from my one International flight. I don't recall needing ever being asked for one and I think I had at least one bourbon per time zone between Tokyo and Portland. And believe me, I wasn't sitting in Krista-class -  if sitting in a wheel well was an option, my company would have stuck me there.

I'm not worried about on the plane, I'm concerned about in the hotel room.  I know I'm going to want a whiskey or two.  Is the duty free place after we go through customs?  Remember that flying out of the Dominican. Wasn't sure how available whiskey would be in Paris.

Thanks GB.  From what I read,  Americans seemed to be liked (tolerated?)  in Italy but wasn't sure.

Ah, I see.  In my experience, the whole "people don't like Americans" thing is way overstated.  I've been to 70-something countries and have yet to experience one where people weren't friendly to me, including places such as Vietnam, Nicaragua, etc. where they might have good reason not to be.  (In fact I'd put Vietnamese people as among the friendliest I've come across.)  You're beloved by everyone you meet, GB - you aren't going to have any problem anywhere in any case.

Well, I could only imagine even those hillbilly losers back in coach get some free booze.  But who cares, like we'll ever have to know, right sweetie?  HAHAHAHAHAHA

Confirmed.  Did this on a Vegas trip last fall.  TSA agent looked at the ziplock bag, laughed, winked at me, and said, "Someone knows how to travel."

Apparently, today was the day for kicking people to the curb all around.  My company ALSO did a huge round of layoffs(prolly 15 or more people) completely out of the blue.  Guess who didn't make the cut to stick around?

Great start to my April!

i had free booze on my flight to europe a few years ago, i was not in krista class.

That sucks, sorry to hear man. But hey, look on the bright side, you're at least in the wonder Reno area.

Wrestlemania appears to have moved to my colon, where The Irresistible Force  (last night's Taco Bell) and The Immovable Object  (last night's Vicodin) are locked in a steel-cage match. No matter who wins, I lose.
