Bought five pounds of greens, grated a big chunk of ginger, chopped a head of garlic and toasted seven fancy spices from the Indian maket. Cooked it all down in some ghee and added a couple cans of coconut cream and a pint of Bulgarian yogurt, cooked some more and pureed with stick blender.

My first Saag curry was a success.

First house we bought, an alley cat came with the house. People we bought from said her name was "Amanda". Cat was matted, huge, black & white snarly wild animal.

First time I tried to pet her she sank her teeth into my hand and locked her jaw like a pit bull. Then i used my work gloves. I started feeding her on the back porch and she'd come up and scratch my hands as I was putting the bowl down. 

Eventually she mellowed out and I could pet her and hold her. That took months. 

She would come like a dog when you went outside and yelled her name. She also chased dogs 5 times her size away. I once saw her square up a raccoon on the back porch, protecting her food bowl.

She got old and started drooling so finally I took her to the vet. This cat never saw the inside of a building in her life.

At the vet, they call me in to the exam room and say "what did you say her name was?"

She's buried in the yard now. Only cat I ever adored.

:shock:   You panicked me for a second.  Don't know why we have such a big difference, but our forecasted highs here through August 1 are 75, 77, 75, 77, 79, 79, 75, 70 and 72.  Stay safe down there, buddy.  :translucentsunite:

Willie started a name his new band thread.  We thought he was playing us but then it just more like he went off his meds.  

He hated all suggestions and was stuck on the words "silver", "gold", and "plane."  

Your cat's name would be perfect for Willie's band.

Ah, I see.  Sorta.  Your link came back to this thread, but I'll find the one you're talking about.  I've only trademarked her name in the "feline" category, so it's still open to him. ;)

that's sounds awesome.

i made a salad for dinner, since my wife requested it.  Something from a magazine.   THe dressing was easy and great it was 2T cider vinegar, a minced clove of garlic, pinch of salt. then whisked in 3/4 C sour cream, 1/4 C  diced chives, 2 T extra virgin olive oil and a little milk to thin it out.   That's it.   Was really good.

Some good news (that we can all use)...

The wife started back to work this week after almost 3 months of being unemployed.  Loooooong story that I am not prepared to discuss right now (same reason why I didn't talk about it here).  But #### one particular Schmuffalo Mild Fings district director (who is probably going to cost his bosses some scrilla once the state investigation is finished).

Anywho...wife is going to manage a brand new joint that is like a locally owned Eureka Burger.   Fingers crossed.

Sounds great here. My wife has been unemployed for 7 years with no apparent interest in changing status any time soon.

Would like the Bile Dings story at some point.  Corporate incompetence seems to be a thing there.
