GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (14 Viewers)

When you cop to doing something idiotic and a bunch of people like your post, are they really saying that they agree with you and that you really are an idiot? I just got a bunch of likes in another thread for admitting something that I'm not very proud of.

people respect it when someone admits they were wrong about something

Door County, Wi might be my heaven.

Played The Orchards today, shot best round of my life

ate lunch at JJ's

Currently spending hour 7 of drinking in Sister Bay at Al Johnson's new outdoor bar.

Slapithi?

On the continuing saga of my new meds - I started to lose some motivation during work today, so I decided to start picking up my office a little bit, just to feel like I was getting something done.

I cleaned my entire office for the first time in about four years.  I found the rolodex (yes, actual physical rolodex) of the guy who had the office before the guy who had it before me.

Ritalin rules.

I've always wondered how strange it must feel to tear an ACL.

As of about two hours ago, I don't have to wonder about it anymore

So how does it feel?  They say on TV it doesn't hurt that much.
I was playing basketball, cutting to the rim and this kid ran into me, hitting the outside of my knee with his and buckling it inward.  I felt my whole knee joint cave and then pop back as I went down. It hurt when it first happened although not like an excruciating pain. It actually felt more weird than anything.

As I was laying there, I didn't want to move it and it was still hurting some. They called for someone to come over and by then it actually felt much better. I could fully bend and straighten it and I was able to get up and kinda walk on it but it felt funny and not fully stable.

Since then it's swelled up and hurts a little more. But, it's actually buckled on me a couple times already trying to get back home and THAT has been the worst. It hurt a lot each time it did that and feels awful. Right now it's wrapped with an ACE and just sitting on the couch and it doesn't hurt at all.  I can move it somewhat but I'm afraid to do anything where it might buckle again so I'm not moving it much.

I'll get it in an immobilizer tomorrow and next week see someone and go from there. I guess at my age, surgery isn't necessary depending on what kind of activity level and stress you want to put on it. We'll see, I guess.

Sorry man.  I mentioned that because of the number of ACL injuries we see on the TV and the guys not writhing in pain.  Let us know what the doc says.

No worries and yeah, I'm serious when I said I wondered what it must be like for exactly the reason you said. But I would have been content never knowing.

Twist, he is a doc.

Exact same thing happened to my GB/old neighbor last year @gianmarco  He and his wife stopped by last weekend.  We miss them so much. They missed me more though since they both gave me extended time hugs while literally off their feet.  I'm stronger than I remember.  Anyway, we may be high here.

sorry you have to go through the pain and the rehab.   leg injuries blow.   good news is you'll recover fully.

worse injuries (especially as you get older, and these old injuries come back to haunt you) are shoulder and ankle.    Try to avoid them at all costs
