Just had a female student try to tell me this joke and then didn't understand why I didn't laugh:

A Mexican magician told his audience he'd disappear on the count of three. He began counting "One...two..." And he disappeared without a tres"
There's this sharp 180 degree turn, somewhere around age 9 or 10, where when a kid effs up a joke it goes from, "Aww, that's cute you tried telling a joke.  Almost had it." to "God, you're not too bright, huh?"

Great joke. She stole it.

Is she Mexican?

Dumb little ####... it's "Uno... dos..."

Small quibble with Portland hipsters. Not sure if people are like this elsewhere. Portland is very polite, except when a hipster wants to cross the street. They just walk out in front of your 6000 lb vehicle and don't make eye contact or wave "thanks" as you slam on your brakes. No crosswalk required.

That's always been my experience with Portland.   Your bicyclists riding in the middle of a lane (even though they have a bike lane) may be worse.

Quick update:

Our counter-counter offer on that house we were trying to buy was accepted. The purchase is contingent on the sale of our house, so now we have to get things spit-polished around here in the next two weeks. Given that we have (up to) five kids, two dogs, two cats, and a gila monster, this should go very smoothly.

Then we get to try like Hell to find a buyer who will allow us up to 2 months of extended occupancy after closing, since the new house will require at least that amount of time to get even the minimum renovations that are required completed. If we can't, we get to move into a rental house owned by my mother in law for a couple months.

I want to kill myself already and nothing has even gone wrong yet.

Glllllllllllllll, GB.  Let me know if we can do anything to help, seriously.

Mr krista and I are at this very moment looking at houses on-line. :bag:

(Would not be moving far, just about 18-20 miles away.)

I work in a damn bike shop and Portland cyclists make me angry
i honestly don't see it that much.   In fact, I'm surprised at how few bikes I see...I thought it would be more compared to Chicago.

More likely towards Forks.
Due to the shape of this peninsula, a little farther from Portland but not any closer to Forks.  We looked in the area (Port Townsend) when we moved to the peninsula, but I feared it was too long a commute if I decided to work in Seattle.  That idea is out the window - I'm  not working anywhere but my house while wearing jammies again.  But I'd like to be where I can walk to a lot more decent restaurants.

WWGMTAND?

go to supermarket, at checkout cashier is semi-special.  cost around 84.50, I use debit and axe for 5.50 cash back....I never axe for cash, but wanted some to tip for hair cut.  the cork proceeds to give me 90-.  go.......

I would never ask for anything other than multiples of $20.

And be honest with the cashier.  I'm guessing there's a good chance they get fired over an $85 cash shortage.
