Honest question and no offense intended: Have you thought about talking to a pro?

Some of your "venting" borders on rage - or, at least, it reads that way to me sometimes. But maybe you're amping it up here for entertainment value :shrug:

I used to be in your situation years ago. I was the family middle man, problem solver and guy everyone called when they needed a favor.

It means you have your #### together, or at least other people think so. It also mean s you have to carry burdens.

The way out, according to a psychologist I saw about it, was to just inform everyone, "from now on if you have a problem call someone else. You're a grown adult and I'm sure you can take care of it"

When I did that to my family, I felt a huge sense of relief.

I handled it differently.  I said "#### all" to the entirety of it and moved on.  And never happier.

eh, it's mostly just ramped up for emphasis. i'm really a pretty mellow, even keel guy.

i did see a professional a few years back. went in for a few sessions. at the end of the last one he said "you seem like you've got a pretty good handle on how you feel, why and what you can and can't control... i don't think you need to come back unless you just enjoy the chat :shrug: "

too often people read venting and/or complaining as all the same regardless of who, what, when or why. i deal with this #### face first but it's still nice to write it out and let it go to mostly anonymous strangers.  whether or not people like it :shrug:  some people write in journals, some people drink their feelings away, some people beat their pets.. i dump on the FFA..  the jokes help me cope :shrug:

I'll admit the comment about your dad's novel was borderline, but it was funny and it was several years ago. Other stuff was what I do with everyone to some degree. Is it too much for you?

Last real interaction with you was when I told you I couldn't do fantasy football this year. You kind of twisted off on me and I took the time to write a long explanation. You never replied at all. Honestly, that hurt. I poured out a lot in that trying to explain .

So anyway, all I'm trying to do is be funny. If its too hurtful for you, I'll target others or go away. Whatever. I'm losing my zeal for life anyway.

Good, so you do know.  Odd that any other person living up this way reporting on the storm gets a pass from you.  I mention it and you unleash your hilarity.  

 
You two need to fix it.  This is the last place I know of where people get along and wish Krista happy birthday.  Bury the hatchet. 

And not for nothing, cos, but you are one of my friends with the best insight and wisdom and would tell me this were the roles reversed: I don't know what you said about a novel or whatnot, but if it hurt your friend's feelings than it doesnt matter if it was funny.

Yeah, I looked it up afterward.  it was the way he said it, "wind picking up a  little bit." Without the context of the current situation, it seemed pretty innocuous. 

I'd thought I'd done a pretty good job of showing who I was and how I treated my friend over the last decade here, even if I am prone to bursts of smartass comments. If not, I really have no business here.

If i had to pick between pretty much anyone and gm i would pick forrest.  And so would damon.  Over the last 20 years you guys have spent more time together here than maybe any two people and a lot of it was over the internet or the phone and like any relationship moved past the epic stripper ice cream cake construction phase into the actually seriously mad about fantasy football team co ownership and how dare you belittle my storm phase.  Hey, i get it.  Have your fight.  But #### you both if you're going to imp up this thread with serious feelings about something i don't know anything about before our new el duque de menage tells us if one sampled his coq au vin while the other enjoyed his croquettes.  Take this #### to the donald trump thread.

 
Mrs. SLB was complaining of a sore throat last night and that she didn't feel good. This morning she started to vomit then lost complete bowel function. After that her arms went numb and she couldn't feel me squeeze her hand. She looked dazed but uttered "call 911". Mrs. SLB is a tough broad so I didn't hesitate. Spent about 5 hours in the ER where I did unspeakable, nauseating,  things to assist her since they were apparently too busy to help.   Thankfully she just has a really bad virus and was severely dehydrated.  They also believe she passed out but was still somewhat coherent, forget the word they used. Anyhow, she'll be fine but scary, particularly for the boys.
