If your time is worth $12 An hour, either of the tvs I mentioned will end up saving you money.Thanks. This is for a 77 year old so I need as simple as possible. I figure his technology skills are only slightly above GMs

Amazon has a TCL 55" 4K for $499Costco sells a 40 Inch TCL brand tv that has built in roku for $225.
sams club sells a 55 Inch hitachi with roku for $400
For painless easiness, either of these are hard to beat
. I'm hoping to squeeze a little more life out of my 60" Sony but that's definitely a candidate for when I need a replacement.Bring in a bunch of illegals to vote for her.My 4 year old's day care class will be doing an election tomorrow to learn about secret ballots with upcoming presidential election. They will be voting for a class president and learned about it today.
I'm showing up at pickup today with a stack of her pictures printed out and will be asking where I can hang them up to help her campaign to win.
And start questioning the legitimacy of the vote counting in case she losesBring in a bunch of illegals to vote for her.
Start a rumor that her opponent grabs cats.My 4 year old's day care class will be doing an election tomorrow to learn about secret ballots with upcoming presidential election. They will be voting for a class president and learned about it today.

Especially if it's a location where she will probably win anyway. And start questioning the legitimacy of the vote counting in case she loses
can't punish the kid for telling the truthSo.......Hazel mooned everybody in our house while I was at work. Not sure what provoked it, but she did it going up the stairs. When asked where she learned this neat trick, she said "dad". I'm not even mad.
Took 25-30 god dammed years, but that commercial finally hit home when I started playing the role of dad.
Wouldn't hurt to hit up a couple of the nearby churches either. Get a reverend/doctor(or is is doctor/reverend?) or two on board with her and she should be a cinch. And start questioning the legitimacy of the vote counting in case she loses
I love that she runs off after taking her sweet sweet time pocketing the candy.
Not sure if that was running or just inertia taking over after she went down that step.I love that she runs off after taking her sweet sweet time pocketing the candy.
Schools have absolutely no power to force a student to unlock their phone. Not sure how long this post will be, but looking for NC lawyersguys or possibly teacherguys to respond.
Last week at my nephews HS, a couple of MENSA students used the white line paint from the football field to paint at least 3, as my sister said not very good penises (or is it penii?) on the football field. While i find tgis hilarious, the school principal called my nephew into the office for questioning. He is a good kid and has an alibi that it wasn't him, however, the assistant principal did question him (not clear as to why). during tgis questioning, they asked him if he had a phone, asked if he would unlock it once he confirmed he had one. Then proceeded to go thru his phone. My question is do they have this right and before they did this shouldthey have contacted my sister or BiL? BiL actually works as an Occupational Therapist for the county school district. I'm basically looking to see if they have this "power" without the consent of the parent or withoutsome type of advocate for my nephew?
I'll hangup and listen?
Ok, when my sister, i believed emailed/called the school they said they do have the right. She is meeting with the principal and will ask where it is their policy as it was implied that this was ok.Schools have absolutely no power to force a student to unlock their phone.
I mean I'm not a lawyer but I'm pretty sure that what the ACLU site says is correct.Ok, when my sister, i believed emailed/called the school they said they do have the right. She is meeting with the principal and will ask where it is their policy as it was implied that this was ok.
Thanks  the only thing that im not sure of is that they asked him to unlock the phone and he did it, but would he be able to say that is ok or should the school have contacted the parents to get permission. that isn't really statedin the link.I mean I'm not a lawyer but I'm pretty sure that what the ACLU site says is correct.
Yeah, not sure about that either. But it is pretty shady either way. Thanks  the only thing that im not sure of is that they asked him to unlock the phone and he did it, but would he be able to say that is ok or should the school have contacted the parents to get permission. that isn't really statedin the link.
right. once they obtained valid consent, they had the right to go through his phone (on a limited basis). whether as a minor he is capable of giving informed consent is a valid question. Thanks  the only thing that im not sure of is that they asked him to unlock the phone and he did it, but would he be able to say that is ok or should the school have contacted the parents to get permission. that isn't really statedin the link.
That is why my sister is so pissed.Yeah, not sure about that either. But it is pretty shady either way.
Seriously. There could be pictures of their dad mooning them on that phone.I would come unglued and throw all the pennies if a school administrator or teacher touched any of my kids' phones before speaking to me first.

Comcast just added Netflix to their X1 receiver if that helps.Comcast
Looks like Roku Express could work for them
$30 and it has a remote control
Yeah, saw that earlier and had to send it to my buddy who is a big Indians fan. National media not doing much to hide their hardon for the Cubs in this series.JFC. Please stop this idiocy tonight.
Or a gif of said dad going to town on a corndog.Seriously. There could be pictures of their dad mooning them on that phone.
My Magnetbox is pretty good but the Sorny is the best. The pictures on my Sony's, Vizio's and Samsung's are all superior, but the value is in the TCL, esp. When you figure the built in and configured roku and wireless. You need to do nothing but log on to wifi and then login to Netflix. Perfect for elder parents and gm.
Ah, I found your problem.mr. furley said:you know what's neat about these smart TV's, especially, i imagine for the older folks.. they only work sort of.
used to be you pulled out the dial to turn on a tv. or as we got older, you pushed a button and the tv turned on. now they're connected to the internet by cables and signals. sometimes those things can lose connectivity... maybe the sun is at the wrong angle, or the wind is blowing too hard, or a tree branch is brushing up against a cable. or maybe it only partially connects because the signal isn't strong enough... or they freeze without explanation and no amount of button pushing and yelling at the tv makes it work again.
case in point: i tried to turn on the tv last night. first attempt.. nothing happened.
(pause) second attempt - 404 message.
(pause) 3rd attempt - "press OK to watch tv" - presses "ok" - nothing.
(pause) 4th attempt - nothing happened.
(pause) 5th attempt - tv goes in to boot mode - Insignia logo appears - lights blink - box turns off.
(pause) 6th attempt - tv goes in to boot mode - a picture appears - Cartoon Network - i can't change the channel - none of the buttons are responding.
8 year old walks by, looks at me, looks at the tv, takes the remote, pushes the power button, tv turns off, then on and now it's working fine![]()
she happened upon me at the right time or else all the electronic devices in the entire house were about to get thrown out. microwaves, refrigerators, tv's, laptops. all of it. i'd rather watch the local retirement home's interpretive dance troupe replay the MNF game live in my living room than fight with the tv anymore.
I believe that he is. He's from the other side of the aisle, but I've had some decent conversations with him over the years and consider him honorable.Probably an idiot for not knowing this already, but Bass n Brew is a reasonable and decent fellow, right?
Thanks. He struck me as such. Just another person with a complete hatred of what this election has become, albeit with a different political starting perspective.I believe that he is. That sounds familiar. It was probably 5-10 years ago we got into a bit of a snit over politics, but because of previously had good discussions with him, I took it to pms and hashed it out.Thanks. it's this or Time Warner, unfortunatelyAh, I found your problem.
Sorry man. Lawyers are the worst.Replied to ex's attorney with the terms the ex and I had worked out over the last few months. Four days later her attorney replied with the request for financial discovery and nothing related to what I sent.
So guess who just shelled out many thousands more in lawyer fees? #### this, he can deal with it on my behalf. Hooray for attorneys!
