GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (38 Viewers)

I am a staunch supporter of over the top for toilet paper. I hate when my wife puts it the other way. She must not care either way because she does it both ways. I, however, now see a reason for that terrible behind method; when a 2 year old goes to the roll and spins it as fast as he can, if it is the over method then the whole roll is on the floor and if it is behind it just spins.
What if he spins it the other way

Movie theater by me recently remodeled and now every seat is a powered recliner and you choose your seat at the box office.

Pretty sure I'd spend $10 to watch Krista's new Food Channel special "Airport Sushi, Truckstop Naan, and Subway Sirloin" there.

Only way we'll go anymore, plus reserved seats

Yes, my son recently discovered toilet paper and I briefly considered the idea of flipping it to prevent the spinning.  I decided that if it comes to it we'll put him up for adoption instead.

It can rain pretty hard up here, but it's not like the rain storms of the south or midwest.  Average rainfall in Portland is less than many other US cities, which seems strange but it's true.  Typical winter day will be cloudy, damp and cool with periodic showers.  But, rarely will we dip below 32 here and snow is very uncommon until you get up into the mountains, which are pretty close.  I dig it, but the winter days can be dark and depressing for many.
this is why I ski all winter.   You're above the clouds.

Did you ever grill a turkey?  How'd that turn out?

Oven roasting one today.  Spent the last hour reviewing recipes and steps.  Will use a new brine recipe this year, which I stumbled upon today in the FFA.

Hazel caught the twins virus so we are quarantined here.  Neat weekend.

Ugh.  Just popped in here to ask you how the twins are doing.  Not liking this plot twist - sorry, GB.

I didn't. But I stumbled into the best damn turkey I've ever made or had last year. I'll find the post/recipe because it's on here. Brb

By the way now the smart people say don't wash your bird. Just season and cook.

The dry brine is simple just coat that ducker inside and out with salt and spices. Make sure you get under the breast skin. Before you cook, slide some butter in there and all over and the inside. I  left the cavity open and the convection oven really cooked it well and quickly. Let it rest for an hour tented with foil.

sux0rs GM.  it'll pass.  my kid had it briefly.  pedialite makes popsicles, but i'm sure you know that with your breeding habits

headed to mammoth tomorrow for the week.  hopefully, this storm will slow down and dump some powpow so we can shred the gnar!  regardless, i'm stoked to get away for the week and be with only my family for thanksgiving.

Sup, yo? You cooked any beer lately?
Not for a while - lack of time & good location for equipment, so it's all in storage.  I consider myself a "consultant" these days, which is my excuse for going to club meetings and drinking OPs.  Once in a while I'll hang out with someone brewing so I can kibitz.

Buenos dias, amigos y amigas
I've been listening to Otis Blue a lot lately.  Was it Sam Cooke that you prefer as a singer?  I remember having this discussion and that you put Otis second or maybe even third, but I can't remember whom you had ahead of him.

Ok, we are in agreement.  And yeah, regarding I've Been Loving You Too Long...jesus.  I mostly just listen to tracks 4 and 5 (Down in the Valley followed by that one) until I can't take it anymore.
The greatest 3 a.m. song ever, my friend. Rookies better be prepared for devastation.

I wonder whom I got you mixed up with.  There was someone here whose musical tastes I respect a lot who argued strongly for Cooke.
