after my neighbors' dog attacked me and my old dog when they left their front door open (don't ask) I have hated them.  every so often I accidently get their mail and open it, throw it out, etc.  today I got a piece of their mail, it's a thanksgiving card from the dude's parents to them.  i put it on my entry hall table like my own.  wonder if my wife will notice.

 
A Chinese family may buy our house (with all cash), but the one issue that may be insurmountable is that the potential buyer's wife doesn't like the feng shui of our front yard.

Our street number is also "just okay". 

Their son goes to a school that is less than a mile away and there are zero other houses for sale in the immediate vicinity, but apparently ####### witchcraft is more important than that.

I've never met his parents but they don't have much either and can't even afford to attend the funeral, obviously also sucks.  There's a link to a gofundme link on my FB page to help pay for his hospital bill and funeral expenses.  I don't expect a donation but it's there if you want.  Sorry I haven't been around much but #### like this just seems to keep happening in my life and hate bringing the GMTAN down.  Love you guys.

You have had some really #### luck with people in your life dying lately. And by lately, I mean what the last 2-3 years?

They were practically destitute and living on Kauai? Odd detail.

Thanks GB.  Not sure what the odd detail is.  She was homeless for many years.  I think that most people would believe if you live in Hawaii, you are well off, which is why I included it.  Not sure what happens next but my heart breaks for her.  She's so scared and lonely.

I guess the part I found odd is that presumably she grew up in St. Louis but is living on Kauai in a fairly desperate situation. I certainly didn't mean that comment to sound insensitive or disrespectful.

A gb lives on kaui w baby momma and three kids. Mostly broke, struggling to get by and hopefully no crime.

SIL has lived on the north shore for like 30 years... two daughters... two baby dads (both went to the clink). Extreme poverty,  crime, teen pregger rate and scary shockingly awful public schools. Its the ghetto with a nicer view. .

Bob... does your sis have any support there? Is she going to stay or come back to the mainland? Its just terrible what she and the family must be going through

No worries GB, I knew you didn't mean any harm. 

She went to school at UT and got caught up in the hippie lifestyle.  While some of that I've enjoyed myself, most of it isn't all that admirable.  She's pretty, and gifted intellectually, athletically and artistically.  Of course people like her that are "too smart" seems to have mental problems.  Then throw in decades of drug use and it's a bad combination.  I'm happy to report at least that she has been sober for a couple of years but she can at times go off the deep end with some of her beliefs.

Lots of poverty.  She was homeless for many years living in the jungle with a bunch of other hippies.  Things really turned around when she met her husband in that they were at lease motivated to work and had a roof over their head.  He was by no means perfect but it was better than the alternative.  They even had a cell phone so we could call her which for many, many, years, we couldn't do.

At the inlaws farm for the holiday. AngryWife and her mom are in town shopping. FIL opining on how great Trump's America will be. Both of these things leading to me hitting the bottle pretty hard.

i don't know why I keep thinking I get to sleep in on Thanksgiving. The dog's refusal to recognize daylight savings time should have been  enough of a hint.
