IMO, "office lunch" means the office pays. otherwise it's "forced lunch" with coworkers.

buy yeah- home schooled kids are pretty typically socially "off" with their peers more than adults. they're used to everything being planned around them- usually not great alllowing other kids to take any kind of control... IME.

I'm not against homeschooling in  Siri and I know a couple families that do a good job.    My wife actually taught part time as a Spanish instructor at a homeschooling co-op in Illinois and she said the kids were the most respectful and prepared kids she had ever taught.  

 I think once kids get into sports when they are a bit older they participate more in groups and learn some more social skills.   But if you are going to homeschool I feel you have an obligation to socialize your children to supplement the curriculum you are providing at home. 

 Plus from what I understand the father is a very domineering guy, not abusive or neglectful but certainly seems to rule his household and it pisses me off when the wife's feelings aren't taken into account when making major decisions like this. 

 
I don't have the patience to practice writing with my 5-year for 15-minutes, I couldn't imagine having to do that for 6 hours.  There's not enough alcohol in the world to do that.

co-op was the word I was struggling to come up. 

agree with everything you wrote. one of the most aspects of elementary school, IMO, is getting the kids socialized. even better in pre-school.  my gb's wife has homeschooled both boys at times- the oldest is brilliant, but has some psychological issues (genetic... schizophrenia runs in the family) that were hugely problematic when he was younger, regardless of however touch-feely the school was. has done very well in HS after a bunch of years at home. the youngest is a stud baseball player and popular kid, but seemed to be struggling with some literacy skills, so they pulled him for a couple years. sounds like they have him taking one or two classes at his old school with his peers, and of course still playing ball 24-7.

your neighbor dad sounds like trouble. my gb's wife is exhausted doing the home-schooling- and that's with only 1 kid at a time. that dude needs to put the ##### back up on a pedestal for a bit and give her more support.

1.  You need to post your dating misadventures for our entertainment.

2.  Dating can be a grind.  

3.  Stop looking at it like you're shopping for a wife.  If you're older and single, you both have flaws.  Most of the time it will be obvious right away that you aren't looking at a future together.  But you're both in the same boat.  Choose to have fun and be friendly and upfront, and you'll cultivate a few FWB that are fun to go out with once in a while.  Since 22 year old is unavailable, I needed a date to a semi-formal cocktail party tonight.  French whore stepped in and we'll have a great time, I'm sure.

4.  Tons of single women out there that want to get married.  Conversation usually happens around the three month mark:  "where is this going?"  

5.  If you'd like to feel married, I'd be happy to not have sex with you, tell you you're doing everything wrong, and take half of your money.

Actually in marriage the problem is more like "I wish this woman I love would never talk to me again."

 
Not a dating misadventure, but my GB's hot Wife 2.0 insisted that I accompany them to a party for her Orangetheory class. I was 20 years older and an easy 100 pounds heavier than anybody in the room. My friends adore me, and dragged a few women in front of me. They all bolted at the earliest opportunity. :oldunsure:

So just started going through some bills. Apparently the out of control spending was more out of control than I thought. :sadbanana:

Going to see how much I can round up with receipts to return, but she pretty much managed to take what we've scratched and fought to save up over the last year and a half and spent it all in one month. Now, we're not talking FBG levels of money here, but it still stings pretty badly.

 
My Grandpa wants a $200 harmonica for Christmas.  Who knew there was such a thing as a $200 harmonica?  But if a 97-year-old man wants a $200 harmonica, he's damn well going to get it.

Also we packed up about 8 trash bags full of all the kids toys because thier idea of playing with them involves throwing them at each other or building a barricade in the middle of the room to "keep the dog out" .  Basically our basement was looking like that scene in toy Story 3 where they bring in the preschoolers
