I honestly thought (& still half-think) I might get fired today. My boss' boss came in "just to visit"  - I've seen that ####-assed reason before and watched dominoes fall. We had a short meeting about a large job we may have just landed, then the bosses went to another department to discuss some other stuff. I left before they could Black Friday me because I have a 7:25 a.m. flight to Mexico tomorrow. I told my admin to have anyone who needs me to call. I really don't have anything left to do for the trip, but they are gonna have to chase me if they want to do it today :lol:

I may not come back to a job, but #### it. Trip's paid for.

 
Had to write a kid a detention today for forging his mom's signature on a progress report.

Life Pro Tip for Kids:  If you're going to try to forge a parents signature don't do it in pencil.

good luck, gb UH, and enjoy the trip. where are you going in mexico? if you see this kid, tell her to hightail it home and to take off the damned sombrero.

and I totally empathize. every time our office manager asks to talk to me, my insides grow burt reynolds sideburns and matching mustaches.

we were just in PdC and Cozumel... had an amazing trip. you have any plans while there, or just hang in the AI resort and drink/sun?

fwiw... water and beaches in Cozumel infinitely better than Riviera Maya this trip- we saw lots of seaweed and rough/not-clear water in PdC and have heard same report from other friends who went.

As a parent, I can vouch for this.  I can't ever find a pencil.  But I would sign a progress report in crayon, marker or blood.

The latter. I've done Playa and Cozumel and they are fun, but I'm flying solo this time and there are a bunch of people I know that will be there. 

The seaweed thing is weird. Tied to an El Nino thing or something?

every time I've been down there it's the same thing. I try to believe friends who say it isn't always seaweedy on that coast, but IME it is.

I've been there when there's none and other times when it piles in. I know this resort puts like 30 guys out there trying to keep the beach clean

 
You know what else I don't read any more? Prediction columns. Who's gonna win this week, who's gonna cover. I don't care about anyone's opinion on that subject, not even my own.

Apologies for butting in without providing any transition leading to my rant. It was like a random stoned thought I had.

We've never been able to stay on grounds at one of those resorts for more than three days straight. 

We go stir crazy.

We always end up renting a car and going out to explore.

You and I have had too many near misses over the years, my friend. I can't do the stoned thing due to my job - though that may have changed since I ran today! - but we gotta hook up before one or both of us expires.

Oddly enough, me neither, not for years now. But my mind was disciplined to the ways of the Force through countless hours of practice decades ago.

Yes to a meetup, it's getting ridiculous.

 
Also, I drop into this thread occasionally to maintain a certain level of RudProtectionAura. According to several of my board critics, this is where you find it.

Not exactly but there remains a chance that at some point we'll be within hollerin' distance of your place. Please note, however, that I said "we," which has a tendency to put the kibosh on, well, fun.

 
But good Lord, reciting the litany of medicines I've taken today was kind of dizzying. The list of #### the doctor just added to it, mind bottling.
