GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (39 Viewers)

I could really go for some dim sum right now.  Or anytime.

I have a five-hour layover at JFK on September 26.  If I haven't made it there before then, let's book that date for the chopstick challenge.
It's on, depending on work schedule since its a Tuesday.  By the way, I have been going to Jing Fong since I was a kid.  It's awesome.

And to be more clear, the past things are usually stuff I've done that very day that I could have done better.  I could have been kinder, could have explained something better, shouldn't have eaten that kilo of octopus.  And if we don't go over those things in our minds, how do we improve ourselves, or at least eat less octopus?

The future things, more often than not, are the entire PNW being destroyed in an earthquake and accompanying tsunami.

Difficult to tell without photos but if you need time to process the stuff that happened during the day.why have you trained your brain to wait until night night?  You literally reward your brain by allowing this. Set aside a few minutes daily whether it's meditation, journaling, or just telling stories to Oliver humanzee while he prays for the sweet release of death like most husbands.

To better evaluate your  octopus eating dilemma please provide pictures of you eating monopus, bipus, heptapus, octopus whatever kind of ####.

As for the catastrophic stuff, step back and look at the largest time frame you can.  Dinosaurs, pyramids, Jesus,  declaration of independence, oh look there's krista4 and now she's gone and that's ok because you knew that was going to happen it just sucks to think of post krista4 but in reality it's freeing because when you're gone the world will go on and you're trying to leave a legacy as a good person in whatever way you can but if the entire pnw breaks off in a Yellowstone emergency at least you know that there was very little you could have done differently so let the girls breathe while you can and send a picture of them to your best internet friend.

Oh god, no way I can make a 90 minute appointment with GMTAN royalty three months in advance.

@krista4 serious question - do you keep a journal? For most people I think they're worthless but for your specific problem it sounds like what you need is structured time to release those octopus thoughts. It doesn't have to be written down.  If you get on the treadmill for half an hour a night and just wall and think about stuff that works too. But it sounds like the specific thing you're dealing with is a need to release that stuff and, an bent a proper outlet for it,  your brain has learned that midnight would be a good time because you're quiet and not doing anything else and you get some intrinsic reward from thinking about these things because you like being introspective. You're probably getting a tiny dopamine rush from it.

Also worth reading up a little on serotonin. Pick an article any article... http://www.healthline.com/health/mental-health/serotonin#overview1

I am not a doctor, and this is not medical advice.

Just hit up the local produce stand. The cantaloupes looked and smelled fantastic, so I got me one of them. Also got some cukes and tomatoes to mix in with Italian dressing.

*drops gloves*

Lemme guess....you put those GD rabbit turds on it and call it "ants on a log" too, don't you?  DON'T YOU?!
Sir, I respect you and value your contributions in this thread.  But if you dare to talk badly about nature's candy again, your participation here will no longer be welcome.  Raisins are a *******mn treat and I won't allow badly talk about them.

when I was a kid, I added bleu cheese to this combo.  Perfect snack while watching the Gong Show
My mom forced us to eat the nastiest blue cheese salad every night for dinner growing up. One of the handful of foods I won't eat, ever
