The Carfax was not updated with the four accidents until after I purchased. But this car was represented as accident free by them to me. Lexsux certified is a national, corporate program. I don't think they'd want to bad pub of selling a car like this and not immediately remediating the damage once they were aware of it. My buddy here who has run a number of dealerships told me to sue them and they'll never take it to court because dealerships always lose
In writing?

70 and sunny at the big Seattle v GB game today

never seen so many pale people get hauled out with heat stroke and dehydration in my life

might have been some of these people's first sun exposure in a decade

Finally landed in the O.C. this afternoon.  Unpacked car into extended stay....found a giant wet area on the floor in the bathroom sink area about 25 mins later.  Maintenance comes in, confirms it's indeed wet (derp), but there's no leaks anywhere.  "Housekeeping probably spilled something and didn't make anyone aware."  Me: ">:-\"  Can't change rooms because they're booked full. :-|  "Well, we can bring in a fan to help dry it up."

Yeah, that will work great with a skittish dog in a brand new place.  Lets have an industrial fan going crazy. Them:"Oh, no.  It's just a box fan."  Me: ">:-\"  You realize that won't do a damn thing, right?

So, of course, we now have a box fan screaming away here at a wet floor(which isn't any drier yet) and no one can relax.  Awesome.

Hey, a million things can go wrong with a cross country move to an unknown destination. A stinky wet floor is a small price to pay. Celebrate winning the journey with such light casualties.

Welcome home!
Thanks.  I'm sure I'll feel better about everything once I'm able to fully decompress and get back to some level of normalcy....so, prolly by Halloween. :)

Oh, of all people, I totally get that.  Our "odyssey" to Reno back in '15 had just about everything that could go wrong go wrong.  Movers late, car delivered late, rental was covered in filth on day one, etc, etc.  My bride's stress level is up (even though she is denying it), and I know its because she's thinking of all of that crap.  Getting into the rental tomorrow and confirming it's in as good a shape as our agent assured her it is should go a long way to rectifying that.

Is it too much too ask, at a 24-hour diner in a popular tourist destination, that the iced tea be fresh? Every day, I have had ask for water because the tea they brought me was undrinkable.

Outside of Texas / the South, it  evidently is too much to ask that they Brew a few nickel tea bags to create 100 glasses of $3 iced tea

welcome to the OC!!

they teach History 101 in college?
was talking to the family the other day and the subject of communism came up.   Blank  stares...

kids are 15, 13, 11 and 8  now i didn't expect the 8 yr old to have ever heard of it but certainly figured the older ones would have.   Nope, never taught to them.   One generation removed from "The Day After Tomorrow" and they don't even teach it, and they've been in private schools since kindergarten.   Makes me wonder why I bothered paying the vig on that.

Not sure what Dennis Quaid has to do with all this.

@DA RAIDERS... any more news from the virgins?

none of it good unfortunately.  my sister's house is looking like a total loss.  the wind may have dislodged if from the foundation  the roof of the house next door blew off and hit their house.  that impact started the destruction of my sister's place.  my BIL and nephew went down into a small, concrete walled, storage space after the roof hit their house.  they huddled in that space for around 6 hours.  it's about 8' deep x 4'x4'  they store pool chemicals and pool toys in there normally.  that must have sux0red big time.  reports of lawless behavior is starting to become more common.  not good.  they need help big time.  they need military/police presence and they need to get all the tourists out of there asap.  it's frankly, getting really bad.
