GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (28 Viewers)

The good news is I have things to distract me. The bad news is they are things like looking for a job and dealing with the final touches of our remodel. Oh, and moving!!!11 (Krista's eyes light up)

Putting up about 300 feet of fencing should keep me busy the rest of the week.

continued condolences and best thoughts redmond. but 300' of fencing sounds super awesome fun.

saw this headline ("This ancient primate may be responsible for genital herpes")  and picture perusing my lunchtime news feed... no idea why it made me think of this thread, but there you go.

You know who loves moving?  Krista!

You know who hates moving? Jay Cutler. Here he is playing wide receiver in the wildcat

Sorry for your loss red.

Proud moment in the 4 household yesterday when Mr. krista found that Chuck D had followed him on Twitter.

Then we saw that Chuck D follows 72k people. :kicksrock:

I have twice as many Tweets as Nihilist Arby's.

They have 306K followers, I have 36.  :lmao:

Any of you yahoos ever use Legal Zoom (I mean, other than all you attorney types, as I expect you all just force some underling at work to do your plebe-level legal bidding for you.  That's how that works, right? RIGHT?!)?  Considering setting up an LLC for my freelance work(not really sure why I've never done it yet, to be honest), but for whatever reason feel "weird" about using a faceless, online entity for this.

Looks like I need to do something though, because these Cali taxes can eat a bag of ##### and I'm seeing info that going the LLC route rather than the sole proprietor route may be able to help me out a tick (albeit minimally....but I'll take what I can get).

Thanks for the thoughts everybody. It may sound silly, but the thoughtful messages I have received here, on Facebook, and via email have actually been a comfort.

It's been tough, but I am doing okay most of the time. Honestly, I am probably still in a bit of shock. Which is bizarre, since I knew this was coming, but I have been feeling weirdly detached about 80% of the time over the last 30 hours. The other 20% of the time I have been a throbbing, raw nerve. Maybe the detachment is related to all the beer and cannabis edibles I have been consuming. Maybe.

I have known lots of people who have died over the years, but this is the first time somebody extremely close to me has died. It's terrible and weird.

Setting up an LLC usually takes 10 minutes (depending on state) and a monkey could do it.  Paying a lawyer to do it is usually pretty over the top.

So yesterday, after school, I'm talking with my buddy that teaches next door.

He's only been teaching for a year so he asks me what he should do about a situation in class.

He tells me that a kid came up at the end of class and hands him a snapshot photo that he found on the floor.  Now my buddy is holding the photo and I can see it.  Buddy tells me "It's not really bad but I'm just not sure what to do with it."

So he shows it to me.  It's a pic of one of his female students (who is actually not in class these days because she and a few other girls got caught smoking the jazz cabbage last week but that really doesn't have anything to do with this) just sitting on a bed.  There is nothing suggestive about the pic at all in terms of pose or clothing etc.

...except the girl is eating the biggest GD banana I've ever seen and half of it is in her mouth.

My buddy says "I have no idea who had the picture or why.  I mean it's not like porn or anything but...I mean...what should I do with it?  I don't want to put it in the trash because what if somebody finds it?  I just don't know."

I told him  "Just take it to the Dean for this grade level and tell her a kid found it.  That's it.  Then it isn't your problem any more."  And that's what he did after putting it in an envelope.

Oh and the second he showed me the photo I started laughing my ### off and couldn't stop.  Then I laughed even harder when I saw him put it in an envelope like it was something he got from Jared from Subway.

What kind of weirdo does that?

I mean prints out a photo?  That can't be a student.  I don't think they even know how to make that happen.

I actually thought the same thing.  BUT some kids do like to print out photos so they can decorate the outside of their binders.

I think your buddy took the photo and is now trying to not get caught.  Should probably tell the dean you saw him with a really dirty photo of a student.

Roverkid is in 8th grade.  A lot of her friends have mini photo printers and they make collages and #### for their rooms and lockers and such.
