I didn't watch one second of that SNF game.  I couldn't turn away from the WS game.  Incredible.  This whole series has been magnificent.
I dvr'ed the WS game and watched football.  I rarely hit the "3 hr extension".  I was up until 3:30am watching the game and only had like 15 minutes left on the 6 hrs of recording (pre-game took quite a bit of time too).  Crazy.  What a game.

I got one of those VPN thingies  ....does it matter where I choose the IP to be from? Any pros/cons?
Stay in N. America mostly or go outside if it’s content-specific. I use IPVanish and choose fastest and closest when possible.

depends on what you want to do.................when I go to Italy full time I will get a vpn to mask my IP so I can watch American sports and fool providers on my location.

my 9 year old had the misfortune of being called up to the front of class today during social studies class to discuss the map of Africa

somehow she was asked to name countries.. no idea what they're working on... she got Niger

annnnnnnnnnnnd she mispronounced it

that led to the teacher addressing the entire class about hateful words, etc.  so, that's fun. poor kid is so sensitive. she has never heard that word used before (that i know of). teacher said she was so confused about why she was in trouble.... and just sobbed when he explained it.

Sounds like an incompetent teacher. Teacher should have anticipated it and said "tell the class all about Niger"

So I'm in a group text without some of the cub scout mom's (no :pics: but let's just say Christo would be a big fan).   Anyway their latest shtick is "liking" comments in the group text

Things like

Mom 1: we can make a pumpkin tic tac toe

Mom 2: liked "we can make a pumpkin tic tac toe"

I asked my wife if there's some sort of Facebook text conversion app or something or if they're intentionally doing it and she just said no they're just dumb twats

You can do that on iPhones. If you also have an iPhone, it just shows an icon or something next to the text. If you're on Android, it annoys the crap out of you.

I spent 11 hours working today, and I'm planning on 10 tomorrow, but I'm about to enter the theater to see Blade Runner anyway. When you're on your deathbed, you're not going to think "Damn, I wished I'd gotten a little more sleep."

Sucks. Was she really in trouble?

Wait, they're actually typing that out?  No way.

she sure thought so. she was devastated.

doesn't feel like the teacher intended to punish her but more to use it as a teaching moment given that he couldn't chance letting her say it, do nothing and then have a student report him to the principal.

the kids are 9. i doubt any of them have a single clue what the word means... i hope.

You get used to it

Depends what you're using it for.  If you use it to access netflix, choosing another country will allow you to see shows that aren't available in the US
